not sure how much of a hot take this is but imo the only really good morgan and wong episode in season 4 is “never again”

#not to say home and TFWID are bad bc there are parts of both episodes i genuinely really really love #but when you look at the episodes as a whole the only one where i'm really like wow is 'never again' #the wonderful wonderful sequence in home is genuinely chilling and it was the main thing that stuck with me from when i first watched it #but on rewatch (10 years later mind you) a lot of the themes in the episode feel a bit heavy handed? #same w AFWID i love the 'i wouldn't change a day scene' and the final scene is beautiful and disturbing and sad #but mulder especially felt a bit OOC or like unsubtle in his characterization #in ways that he wasn't in s1 and s2 morgan and wong episodes #something in their writing style changed in their time off during s3 and i'm not sure if i like it on the whole #txf rewatch
