this is my opinion that i KNOWWW makes me seem like a crackpot but genuinely so many people in society have like.... a very strange attitude towards twins, identical twins specifically, and like the amount of dehumanisation and sexualisation ive experienced for it is honestly insaneeee im not comparing it to systematic oppression or anything but i do think if ur not an identical twin u literally have no idea how deep it goes ngl hence why i know i sound crazy but growing up a twin had a bigger affect on my psyche than growing up surrounded by homophobia easily and thats despite having normal parents who didnt like give us matching names and dress us in matching outfits and shit like i just wish more ppl were even slightly self-reflective abt it idk 😭

#every identical twin i know has mental illness about it in some way and therapists never know how to deal w it unless theyre also a twin or #something #the media representation of twins almost EXCLUSIVELY as really creepy and inhuman too #ive literally had people who like #found it impossible to accept that im a twin because they were clearly shocked by how 'normal' i am like its insane sorry #its just insane because it affected my childhood so strongly and then its like youre insane if you talk about it #we are only 0.3% of the population #but whenever ive met other identical twins we always end up acknowledging how traumatic the whole thing was #i have this big empty feeling in my chest when i think about it #because i feel like i have no way to express it and no one (except my sister lol and shes kind of a bitch) #who understands what it was/is like and people around me still constantly find it really funny to make twin jokes #and would look at me like ive got two heads if i pointed out that identical twins dont deserve to be treated like creepy aliens
