having a lot of feelings today about how it was the introduction of damian that slowly but surely changed batfam dynamics throughout the years so they really all became more of a, yknow, family

#sunspeak #not to discount the other kids’ adoptions ofc but like the robins and cass didn’t really consider ALL themselves siblings until well after #damian came along #arguably dick and jason or dick and tim had brother-type relationships #but jason and tim didn’t consider themselves brothers #cass and dick came close to that kind of relationship for the very brief scenes they spent together and she and tim were more friends #but i would be hard pressed to say that all of them considered each other siblings in an actual family sense #then damian showed up #loudly proclaiming that no NONE of them counted as bruce’s children except himself and they were NOT his family #so everyone takes a step back #considers #this snot nosed brat isn’t right actually. we ARE family #dick became more involved cass and jason came back to the fold more relationships are fostered between them #and i know metatextually this is editorial being like YES MONEY BATMAN PROPERTIES SELL LOOK AT ALL THESE IPS I MEAN CHILDREN!! #but it just gets to me that with the introduction of damian the batfam really began to embrace each other as a messed up broken family that #ultimately does love each other and would do anything for one another #all this cultivating in fucking wayne family adventures and cartoons and memes abt bruce’s million kids #and i just want to cry that’s so different than the preboot norm and i know we harp on reboot but i’m so 🥺🥺 #i can’t even speak rn im insane
