So poor Boo scared me this weekend. After we got home from Thanksgiving travels on Saturday, he was acting all shaky and I thought he had too many watery poops…. I was scared he had caught a cold or something while traveling. So to the first open appointment with Dr. Kersting’s we went! He got a thorough checkup and clear gramstain. He started acting earlier today, but for my mental health we didn’t cancel. We’re watching him, but think he was feeding on my angsty mood and was stressed from the long car ride. He dived down my coat sleeve when Dr. K’s assistant missed toweling him from the travel cage! He also had a stress seizure while there, which he’s had a few times (and we got thoroughly checked out in 2021). Boo is 1000x more of a pest than Misha. I get home and he just wants to eat and play, because he ignores the food in his bowl since I started cooking a lot more during this pandemic. I know my cooking is good, and I probably need help eating, but he just takes over. Misha, on the other hand is like the cockatoo of mellow chill. Misha has been loving learning about lock picking on his busy board, and daintily nibbles only the healthiest food I give him. More progress towards completely healing my relationship with Boo this morning. He came into my bedroom and helped me get dressed for the first time since Arthur bit me a few months ago! Boo and Arthur changed their minds and kept trying to kill Coco last night. It was true hell and traumatic for everyone except the evil twins (Misha was put to work as a stress absorbing sponge bird). My guys just do not like girl birds at all. Luckily a new friend that we made a few weeks ago, who has cockatoo experience but no cockatoo currently, was able to take Coco. She will be an only bird in a quiet mellow household.
