Free Comic Book Day 2023

Here we are again folks, getting ready for the first Saturday in May with great books you can get your hands on FOR FREE!

The following titles will be available while supplies last! Everybody gets to pick THREE. Unlike previous years, we will NOT be accepting FOOD DONATIONS. We will however be collecting monetary donations to give to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank if you feel inclined to donate.

We know the line for the FCBD comics can get long (if you want to come in and shop first, you can skip the line and head straight inside!) so in an effort to both entertain you while you’re in that long line and to help it go a little faster by giving you a preview of the various titles so you can decide ahead of time what looks good, the Comix Connection Counter Monkeys have read and reviewed all of the available FCBD books! That’s right folks, we are BACK! (We can’t say “back to normal” because we’re a comic book store, so “normal” has never been part of our vocabulary...but we are back!)

You can also donate any time online through our ongoing fundraising page here.

Unlike the usual “first Saturday in May” celebration that has defined the even in normal years, due to issues with the ongoing pandemic the folks in charge have decided to move this year’s celebration back to August 14th. That’s right, folks...it looks like it’s ACTUALLY HAPPENING!

Pending any unexpected disasters or caseload spikes, Comix Connection will be hosting Free Comic Book Day this year...but not on the first Saturday in May! No, this year’s event will be SATURDAY, AUGUST 14th. We’ll be open and handing out books all day from ten to nine in both locations.

EVERYONE STILL GETS THREE FREE COMICS!*

Unlike in previous years, we will NOT be doing our usual canned food drive. Instead of collecting cans on premises, for every dollar you donate to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, you may take one additional comic.

We’ll also be having a 20% OFF SALE on graphics novels, games, statues, back issues, action figures, etc.

We will be posting advance summaries of the available free comics shortly; please take some time to look through them and make your preferred selections in advance so we can keep the line moving and avoid having lingering crowds. We also advise having a few back-up books in mind in case something runs out!

MASKS will be REQUIRED for UNVACCINATED customers.
