Kirsty is good at playing with shapes and lines,in her art works,as well as her team’s productions,there are beautiful and intelligent combinations of geometric figures.The backgrounds,of her creations,are usually white or light-colored such as baby blue and very light gray.As the colours of objects in the prints are not strong.

In the talk she mentioned that her team had lots of work experience with different people,what I fell interested is the work her team designed foe the libraries and galleries.One of her work is to create an exclusive series of screen prints to celebrate The Exhibition Road Quarter, a landmark new development at the V&A, London.I think that is so amazing that she created something three-dimensional to something plane and abstract by just using different angles,shapes,and colours .She also talked about her work to transform a classic landscape oil painting to a modern,abstract print,but you can still see the deep combination between them.

“ Taking inspiration from this remarkable space, we have created a triptych of interlinking foiled screen prints which reference the old and the new, the form and shape of structures, and the movement and rhythm of the courtyard space.

I generally start work in my sketchbook, recording initial thoughts about shape, form, colour and materials but tend to move quite quickly to working digitally which gives me the freedom to play more quickly with composition and colour.

The angles, planes and shapes within the courtyard provided loads of inspiration. It's no secret that I love geometry and the challenge of representing the space through shape, colour and rhythm was really interesting. The space is full of contradictions - brick and metal, round and sharp, light and dark, glass and stone. ”

More that an illustrator,she is a product designer.In my opinion,the style of her creation is suitable for a modern home.The design is clever,and make people fell comfortable. Kirsty reminds me of another artist whose style is more bold and unrestrained,also more abstract------Kate Banazi.

This artist also use lots of elements from Geometry but the colors are far more strong and changeable. I can fell energetic from her work.
