Darry - you remember that thing about Sodapop and Ponyboy drinking chocolate milk and Darry drinking coffee? Yeah well he does that cause as soon as he was old enough and his mom started allowing him to, Dare’s been drinking coffee with his dad. Wanted to be just like his old man. After he loses his parents, Darry still pulls out his mug sometimes out of habit-

Sodapop- Sodapop is double jointed! The kind of double jointed where you can do all sorts of weird stuff with your fingers, like touching your thumbs to the inside of your wrist or stretching them backwards to touch the back of your wrist and he does it all the time because when he goes backward, Pony gags and has to walk away from him

Ponyboy - when he was little, Ponyboy would sit in the basket of the cart, ya know? The little one on top where you put small kids? And one time, when he went grocery shopping with his mom and brothers, Sodapop took over the cart and “accidentally” rammed Ponyboy into a display case. Pony still has the scar on his hand where he got pinched in the accident.

Dallas - he’s got freckles! But only across his shoulders! They’re kinda light, blink-and-you-miss-it light, but they’re very pretty and make him look a little softer and a lot less intimidating- if you were to, i don’t know, trace across those freckles i guarantee you Dal will go nuts :)

Johnny - Johnny’s got a freaky good memory. Freaky good. Like he remembers what the boys were wearing when he met them, he remembers how cold it was on that on night they hung out in the lot, he remembers pretty much everything he sees. The only reason he doesn’t do well in school is because he’s bad at applying the material he knows and I think he’s got some sort of learning disability, I’m just not sure which one-

Two-Bit - To freak out his little sister, Two-Bit likes to bite oranges when they have the peel still on them because when he does it, she squeals and laughs and tries to get him to spit it out cause ya know, you’re not supposed to eat the peel, but Two-Bit just likes seeing her laugh <3

Steve - I’ve got tons of thoughts on Steve- but have this one- Steve is good at starting fires, crazy good at starting fires. Give him something to burn and a lighter, he’ll have a roaring fire in no time. This comes in handy when the boys are throwing parties in the lot and need something to keep warm

Tim - This isn’t really a unique headcanon, it floats around the fandom a lot, but out of all three kids, Tim’s the only Shepard fluent in Spanish. The other two know it, they can speak it and they can understand it, but Tim’s the only really fluent one because he got it from his parents before they left- he did his best to teach it to his kid siblings

Curly - Curly, once he gets older, ends up with like- a bunch of tattoos. On his back, his chest, his arms, his hands. Many of them are from his stays in the pen but ya know, he’s proud of them, and to be honest with y’all, they make him look pretty hot-

byeee im goimg crazy over dallas accidentally hurting his partners feelings and the reader walking away because theyre mad at him, then after a few days of no contact, him going to their bedroom window and the minute they open it drowning them in apologies (maybe not super heartfelt because its dallas after all) and kissing them and staying overnight and KSKSIIWIWUXNJSI i meed him

He's really such a softie ya know

He'll stand down in your front yard, hand stuffed in his pockets as he glances up at your window, muttering apologies under his breathe that you make him repeat once or twice because he's all the way down there, say it so I can hear you, Dallas which ya know, makes him a little frustrated and so he gets a little snappy but you can hear the apologetic undertone to his words so of course you let him sneak inside and spend the night lying in your bed and he's just happy as can be cause he sure thought he wrecked things between the two of you-

Dallas never meant to die, he didn't even want to rob the store anyways. he was adrenaline drunk, mixed with pain from his injuries plus Johnny dying, he wasn't think straight. or at all.

he barely realized what he had done and called superman to come save him, because maybe he wasn't to tough after all.

as he was running toward the gang, his brain had caught up to him. he realized that Johnny wouldn't be waiting for him after he got out of jail.

time stopped when he held up the gun, the boys voices sounding like rain, he heard the shots before he felt them.

his last concise thought was how pony shouldnt see him like this, how none of the gang should. he silently prayed for them to leave, to not watch his final momments.

as he finally began to shut his eyes, the boys beginning to surround him, he could've sworn he saw Johnny waiting for him by the lot.

I go to a 6-12 school and we were walking down the 8th grade hall and they're reading the outsiders and this was one of the projects hanging up

We did something like this when I was in middle school, but that right there, my dear friend, is definitely some sort of nightmare fuel :)

They will open again, ya just need to be patient with me. I’ve got a lot of heavy real life stuff going on and I haven’t been in the mood to write. I’m doing my best to work on old requests and get them published though, so all I can say is please, be patient with me-
