not the kind of thing I usually share, but I came across the CDC's national intimate partner and sexual violence survey and their 2010 findings on victimization by sexual orientation, and some of the statistics for women are really shocking (tw for rape and assault)

#the stats for men are worth looking at too but this is long enough. #not shocking as in unexpected but seeing it all laid out this way is so grim. it makes the ways in which my own experiences have been #dismissed feel even worse than they already have honestly lol. I've been thinking lately about how after he kept text stalking me sending #homophobic slurs & stuff and I was just so numb to everything I had to convince myself it was no big deal. #and I was a clued in person like smart enough to know that that type of violence is worse for queer women but I still felt very alone #in my experiences for all these years and I struggle a lot to talk about it still.
