hollow knight and bug fables crossovers are fun because “oh boy my bug games are talking to eachother!” and of course i love a lot of the art and aus people make for it. It’s lovely and all the different interpretations are so so fun.

though. it is a little humorous to me that some interpretations of the crossover tend towards the “hollow knight bugs are more feral and have monsters that the bug fables crew would be terrified of and—“ because like: (and spoilers ahead under the cut)

The Snakemouth Lab exists. as well as Whatever the fuck is going on with the Deadlands. Being a bug just means that the horrors of science and the unknown will just come and kick your ass.

Also resident zombie who speaks in ancient tongues is just chillin. Having an existential crisis but trying their best.
