Okay I said I was gonna show it in Rainstar's Burden bbut I can't wait cause my brain is so full (but you can just skip the first one or two paragraphs for now if you'd rather read the story bit)

Elderpaw/chirp got his face scars because he attacked another apprentice, claiming they were over the border (they were only pretty close). He did this because he was furious about his sister's death and took it out on others around him.

Birdpaw was there for him in this time, as they were friends, and that friendship grew to love.

They became mates soon after becoming warriors, and had their litter soon after that.

But Elderchirp began feeling more and more like something was missing. He had known Birdsun since he was an apprentice. He loved her, he knew that, but did he really love her romantically, or was she only a distraction from his loss?

After all, they became mates while they were very young, what if they didn't know what it felt to love someone romantically? And they had kits while also so young, which made Elderchirp feel trapped. Had he ever had the chance to learn who he, himself was?

He didn't like having these thoughts, and to avoid having them--to avoid seeing Birdsun and his kits, which sparked the thoughts--so he would go out to patrol more and more.

He would come across a Thunderclan she-cat on these patrols, and would fall fast for her.

The two became mates for only a few moons, and by the end of the third moon, Elderchirp was certain that it had all been a mistake. He DID love Birdsun, he knew that without a doubt now, and he broke things off with the Thunderclanner.

But it was too late, because Mossfire, his daughter, saw his meetings and told Birdsun, who was heartbroken.

Birdsun broke things off with him, and his three kits now hated him. Even worse, his former Thunderclan mate whom he broke things off with turned out to be carrying his kits--kits that she promised would never know him.

One parent and kit group!

They become the parents of Redscar, who also becomes the medicine cat after Grassbloom's father.

The other pair!

Elder and Grass are siblings, and Lion and Bird are siblings, making their kits cousins twice-over.

Flowerstar was the one Redscar chose as leader, faking a sign after the previous leader and deputy passed.

Flowerstar also has two siblings, Mossfire and Fernlight. I don't have their full-bodies look yet, but their faces look like this.

Birdsun background:

Fathered by Birchcloud so that her mothers could raise kits, she was born to Russetnose and Blazepad alongside her brothers, Flickerkit and Lionkit.

The trio played together practically every day of their kithood, joined often by the leader and medicine cat, Alderstar and Myrtlewing when the pair weren't busy. The games often included the kits pretended that Alderstar was an enemy warrior, defeating him, and Myrtlewing running over to dramatically announce that they had dealt a 'killing blow,' when he wasn't also wrestling with them.

Once, Birdkit had sprained her paw after falling from the Clanrock when she tried to prove to her brothers that she could climb all the way to the top. Alderstar had gently picked her up and carried her all the way to the medicine den, sitting with her until Myrtlewing was finished wrapping her paw. 

Then, when she could go back to the nursery a few days later, Myrtlewing told her that he expected to see her a lot, as her impulsiveness would surely one day lead to bravery that would earn her many cool scars.

All those memories made it difficult to believe that both of them could have killed so many of their Clanmates, and who knows who else. She hated her Clanmates badmouthing them, but knew that they were right, and that her personal feelings shouldn't overweigh the fact that her Clanmates had been murdered.

Her determination and ambition strongly wavered after learning that the cats who had encouraged those traits in her were killers. But over time, with the affection of Elderchirp, they were able to return.

Considering her feelings toward Alderstar and Myrtlewing, perhaps it was a good thing that Flickerpine was never revealed as a killer. That is, until she joined Starclan.

She was always the softest one of her littermates, inspecting 'injuries' that occurred during playing, even sending her brother, Elderkit, to the medicine den when he was pushed awkwardly onto his tail, despite his protests.

It came to no one's surprise when Fernkit decided to follow in the path of a medicine cat. And Myrtlewing was friendly and caring, or so they thought. He would make a fantastic mentor.

After Alderstar was revealed as a killer and chased from the Clan, Myrtlewing went after to 'check where he went and make sure he didn't come back.' Fernpaw, like the rest of them, was confused and frightened. But of course she didn't think of herself, only others. She worried for her mentor and of how he would handle the news of his most trusted friend.

Cedarsky took her out of the camp for a walk, hoping to calm her nerves. Out there, they were found by Myrtlewing--grieving after finding Alderstar's body--and he jumped, biting and clawing her belly and then running off before father or daughter could react with more than enraged slashes.

Cedarsky would return to camp with her reddened pelt, announcing the news of Myrtlewing's betrayal. The last days of her life was spent slipping in and out of consciousness, unaware when she was improperly fed comfrey root instead of having it smeared on her wounds. She rested, laying on a comfortably mossy nest in the middle of the camp, with her littermates and parents never once leaving her side.

Shadowclan allegiances after Alder and Myrtle I guess

very rough because I made it in a rush

Important Note:

--only features cats who are ALIVE and IN SHADOWCLAN. The deceased or gone or not on, as it’s mainly to show who’s left.

Also know that it doesn’t include Swanmist, Grebewing, or Lightstream as I’m not entirely sure if they were still in Shadowclan at this point or if they left.

So here’s some stuff about each of them (or at least those that I have background relationships on):

--Russet and Blaze had Birchcloud (deceased) as a doner. Bird and Lion’s brother is Flickerpine.

--Grassbloom and Elderchirp are Fernpaw’s littermates.

--Their names go E F G, and are all named after plants. 

--Their suffixes are both things that Fernpaw loved (cricket chirps and watching blooming flowers).

--Both Flicker’s littermates and Fern’s are around the same age, as they were both young apprentices when the revelation occurred.

--Grass and Lion would have kits, as would Bird and Elder.

--Runningcloud (Alderstar’s apprentice) and Silverwhisker (sister of Dawnmoth, a victim) would later have a several litters of kits. 

--Silverwhisker was Rainstar’s apprentice.

You know Blacksong and Greydusk, Myrtle’s mother and uncle and who are also too old to have more kits even if it would help the Clan grow (not that they would want any).

Molespots likely won’t have any kits to grow the Clan, as he’s much older than the other options. Maybe unless he finds a loner or kittypet around the same age that joins the Clan.

He was also Alderstar’s mentor.

Hollyclaw is into girls, so she won’t be passing on any genes either

One of this cats would have been Rainstar’s deputy! (remember that they would have died before becoming leader and would be replaced by Snowstar -- who will likely be a kit of one of these couple’s litters).

None of them are not connected to Myrtle or Alder in some way.

It would either be Mossflake (mother of Myrtle’s victim),

Russetnose (mother of the cat who decided to follow in Alder and Myrtle’s pawsteps and also the bio father of her kits was killed by them),

Blazepad (see Russet),

Molespots (Alder’s mentor),

Hollyclaw (Alder’s half-sister),

Silverwhisker (sister of their victim),

Runningcloud (Alder’s apprentice)

it really goes to show how difficult it is to move on when you’re so connected 

(btw the rest are either too old or were apprentices when Rain became leader and therefore could not have become deputy).

Chances are that the Thunderclan cat Elderchirp cheats on Birdsun was Gravelpaw (as named in Rainstar's Burden, she will obviously have a full suffix when she and Elderchirp get together).

She's also the sister of the apprentice Elderpaw attacked! Stormpaw was his name.

I also might make a Clangen for cats following Rainstar's Burden, at least the ones who haven't already had kits to give me some ideas.

There's more in the Clan like older characters, but these are the ones I could fit and want to explore.

Flowerstar is the kit of Elderchirp and Birdsun, therefore a Cedarsky+Mossflake descendant

Rosemouse is Snowstar (the previous leader and leader after Rainstar)'s brother and brother to Tanglebounce and Shiningmoth who is unseen. He is a kit of Silverwhisker and Runningcloud and therefore a descendant of Rainstar.

Bluefoot is the son of Tanglebounce and is Rosemouse's nephew. He has the same ancestors.

He is the deputy, an interesting choice considering Flowerstar killed Snowstar--it was established she felt guilt, and probably chose him because of that.

Olivetree and Mara are both former kittypets while Gladebush was a loner. They were offered a home in the Clan to 1) make up for the murders as much as they could and 2) increase the numbers that had decreased so much (and to avoid inbreeding).

Olivetree refused due to Myrtle and Alder having killed her brother, but then her Twolegs took away her kits. She decided to join the Clan when she had just one left so that she could raise them. That kit is Parsleykit.

Hollyclaw had a son in canon Jumpfoot, but by this point he's dead. While he was alive and an adult, she had more kits with a donor and her mate. Her kits are Fennelpaw and Riftkit.

ShadowClan leaders

This time I used different artist refs since it's pretty hard to find free bases of more than three cats. Alder is probably the most noticeable. (Artists will be linked at the bottom of the post). Again, this is NOT to scale.

--Flowerstar is the only she-cat seen in the line-up!

--The leader before Cuckoostar is known. They are Hailstar, related (littermates, I believe) to ThunderClan's own Hailstar.

--First we have Cuckoostar! He was the leader during Gorsedaisy's Nightmare. He was friends, though not close friends, with Stormfleck, who succeeded him.

--Stormstar chose his son, Aldereyes, to succeed him, because no one else but his own blood was good enough. He didn't appoint his daughter, Hollyclaw, because their relationship was too far tainted by his abusive training, and he figured his son would be easier to mold into the leader that Storm wanted.

Storm was killed by Alder during a harsh storm.

--Alderstar did not choose Rainstar as his successor. Rather, his deputy was Hootpetal. But after both Alderstar and Myrtlewing were revealed to be serial killers, Hootpetal couldn't stand staying home, and left the territories.

Rainbur was chosen by Starclan after a prophecy was sent to WindClan's medicine cat, Houndpaw/hare.

Rainstar's first choice of deputy is currently not known, but they had either died or retired before taking the leader position. The one who did succeed him was Snowstar, his grandson (son to Runningcloud and Silverwhisker).

--Snowstar is a canon character who died of greencough.

--Snowstar's deputy also passed due to greencough, causing the medicine cat, Redscar, to choose Flowerstem, his cousin, as the next leader, faking a sign.

Flowerstar is the kit of Birdsun and Elderchirp. Redscar is the son of Lionfeather and Grassbloom.

Bonus-- if we take the Curse of The Roots idea, Flowerstar was the one to kill Snowstar and Snowstar's deputy, Brightwhisker. However, she is seen in Starclan (gave Tigerstar a life), so if this is true, she was likely an amazing leader and made up for it with the way she lead her Clan.

Red is canon Redscar, who becomes a medicine cat. He is seen in Code of The Clans. After Snowstar and their deputy, Brightwhisker, died, it was up to him to choose the next leader. He chose Flowerstem. Also decided to make him an only child because he seems like one.

Mossfire dies battling her Clanmate, Jumpfoot, for the deputy position after Brightwhisker died before she could name a replacement. He died in the battle too.

and as mentioned, Snowkit becomes a leader.

Fern, Tangle, and Rose are OCs. The good thing about Code of the Clans is that they don’t tell you all the Clan’s names, so you can make some of your own.

I’m debating adding Jump or Bright in here somewhere, but might add them to someone else. Don’t know who tho, since there aren’t a lot of options. 

Jump looks a lot like Hollyclaw, so maybe she pulled a Blaze/Russet and had a biological father to bore her a son, possibly with a she-cat? I would also need a bio dad and she-cat for her....
