Episode 1033-1035: Taiko Meijin's Shogi Board

Plot in five keywords:

Conan thinks about the Haneda family and gets to know about a shogi player who recently died

The Detective Boys see Yumi who’s following Shukichi because he’s acting strange, meeting two girls

It turns out that these girls (and a few others) are shogi players who get taught by Shukichi

Later, more and more of these shogi players are found dead

And Shukichi is taken hostage by the culprit

Yumi suspects that Shukichi has an affair

Conan wants to get more information about the Haneda family

We get to know that Shukichi and Yumi have moved together

Yumi hasn’t met Shukichi’s family yet, but he told her that he got adopted by a wealthy family after Koji Haneda’s death

Yumi is worried because Shukichi didn’t return home after the case

We get to know that Chiba and Naeko had a fight

Shuichi saves Shukichi (without wearing his disguise)

Shukichi is unable to contact Mary

Shukichi plans to introduce Yumi to his mom

We get to know that Shukichi was adopted by the Haneda family to fulfil Koji’s dream

Shukichi owns a second phone that he only uses to communicate with Shuichi

Akai uses Conan’s bowtie to trick the culprit

Akai tells Conan that he brings the culprit to the MPD

Akai doesn’t want that Mary gets to know that he’s still alive

I really like this case. I like that Shukichi has some spotlight in this three-parter and his interaction with Shuichi is great. It’s an interesting case with tension, but also some funny moments. Still, it feels a bit stretched to me (also because of many flashback scenes).
