TLabs launches batch 5 with seven startups

New Delhi, 28th March , 2014: TLabs, a leading startup accelerator in India, started its fifth Batch on the third week of February, 2014. This batch consists of seven startups with potential across various sectors ranging from fashion to gaming to ad tech to real estate. The founders of these start-ups have come from every corner of the country and will be based out of TLabs Noida office for the next 4 months.

TLabs received highest number of applications for this batch. There has been steep rise in number of seasoned entrepreneurs. This batch also has a healthy mix of B2B and B2C startups that are providing innovative solutions to some evident problems in their respective industries.

TLabs, an initiative by Times Internet, takes its portfolio count to 30 startups taking this batch  into account. TLabs closely works with startup founders in order to help them build businesses from the initial MVP (Minimum Viable Product).

Abhishek Gupta, Head- TLabs, said “Contrary to popular belief that there are enough players in the ecosystem to help early stage startups, we think the system needs more accelerators with the right mindset and people. The founders and employees of accelerators should be ready to roll up their sleeves and work with the startups hands on. We have maintained that approach and will continue doing so in the future. We believe in building businesses and not business plans”

Among the startups that constitute the Spring 2014 batch of TLabs are Fashup, ParallelDots,  Vidgyor, Ghar360, Spayee, TakeZero and GreedyGame.

NASSCOM has provided TLabs access to startups through NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startups initiative which is in its second year of existence. RajatTandon, senior director NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startups initiative , said, “We are committed to support promising young businesses and would like to congratulate the founders for making it to the next batch of the TLabs accelerator. As part of the initiative, NASSCOM aims to build a healthy ecosystem for IT start-ups in the country”.
