Groaning, Yifan steppeddown from the ladder after cleaning the top shelf. They were getting a newshipment of pet accessories tomorrow and they had to make sure everything wasspotless.

A yipping called his attention to the front of the store where a litter of pups were. Chuckling he walked over to watch the puppies climb all over each other. They were the cutest thing he ever seen, a curious mix of browns, blacks and creams. He was going to miss the little guys when they got adopted.

Making sure the pups still had the necessities he went to the register, looking at the clock he noticed it was almost time. He checks his hair and makes sure his clothes are in place and sats down on the stool while grabbing a magazine. He waits.

CLING

“Welcome!”

“Hi Yifan!”

“On time as always Chanyeol.”

Chanyeol smiles at the handsome man on the register. Ever since he started stopping by to play with the puppies the man was always on duty. And if Chanyeol was honest with himself, he now came by to see him more than the puppies.

A blur on his right made him look down and he laughed at the puppies yipping at him while trying to climb up all on over each other. Moving out of the way of the door he bend down and started playing with the puppies.

Yifan takes a deep breath and walks over to squat besides Chanyeol. He looked at the younger guy who also resembled a puppy with his cooper curls crowning his head.

“Have you decided if you’re going to adopt one?”

“Huh?” The deep voice of the other made Chanyeol look up and be taken aback that Yifan was beside him. He smiled sadly, “No, I can’t; my allergies don’t let me.”

“Oh, that’s too bad.”

Yifan makes a mental note to get a puppy plushie.

“Yeah.”

BEEP BEEP BEEP

As his alarm went off, Chanyeol stood up.

“I get out in an hour, do you maybe want to grab a bite with me? That is, if you’re free?” Yifan blurted out when he noticed that it was time for Chanyeol to leave.

A blush made its way to Chanyeol’s face; he never thought he would get asked out. He was already thinking they’d be nothing but acquaintances.

“I would love to!” Chanyeol smiled at Yifan, feeling shy.

“Great!” Yifan breathed a sigh of relief and returned the beautiful smile directed at him.

“I’ll meet you here at the front?”

“Yes, I hope you don’t mind walking, I live close by so I don’t use a car.”

“No! It’s okay, I would love to walk with you.”

“Awesome. I’ll see you in an hour then.”

“Yeah see ya~”

They stood there smiling at each other stupidly before Chanyeol suddenly moved and kissed Yifan on the cheek before running out of the store giggling.

Yifan stood there, touching his cheek and smiling even harder. He reached for the puppies and caressed them, trying not to squeal.

He hoped the hour wouldn’t pass too slowly.
