Hhhh the amount I want to read (could I write it? Yes. Will I write it? No) a college au/college era fic where Mike’s gay but thinks Will’s straight or at least not into him, and he’s trying to get over him, so when a cute guy comes over and they have a decent conversation and then the guy asks for Mike’s number and all of a sudden Mike realizes what was just happening was flirting and he makes the snap decision to be like “yeah sure okay” because… hey the guy’s cute and Mike likes guys and, yeah, Will’s right there and Mike’s not officially out to him, but it’s Will. It’s not like he’s going to be homophobic, and maybe this is a way Mike can come out without it having to be a Whole Conversation where he’s stuck having to lie about how he figured it out/who he likes. And, hey, maybe this guy will finally be the one that can help Mike get over his deep and long term love for pathetic crush on his best friend. Win-win.

And meanwhile Will is in hell, watching this random guy start flirting with Mike, and Mike’s?? Flirting back? Does he know he’s doing that?? And then the guy is bold enough to ask for Mike’s number and Will’s so sure this is the moment when Mike is about to realize what’s happening and… well maybe the upside to this is that at least this is a test run for Will to be a little more sure how Mike will react when HE eventually gets up the nerve to come out to him. Except?? Mike’s giving his number?? And blushing??? And agreeing that he’d love to get dinner sometime????? Will’s dying of jealousy and also dying of “wtf Mike’s liked boys this whole time and I didn’t know and now some random guy has appeared and gotten Mike to agree to a date in the first ten minutes of knowing each other????”
