Beetlejuice brazil VS Beetlejuice broadway:
Tumblr media
Hey there, Beetlejuice fans! Today, let's dive into the world of musicals and explore the comparisons between the Broadway production of “Beetlejuice: The Musical” and its Brazilian counterpart.
1. The first look:
First, let's take a look at the two main figures, the character that gives the franchise its title: Beetlejuice! I'll put the characters side by side so you can get a better view:

3. Analysis:
Observations regarding item 1 in the Brazilian version and items 1 and 2 in the American version:
First and foremost, one difference that immediately catches our eye is the distinction in makeup. While the American version opts for a simpler makeup approach and a more modern hairstyle for the character, the Brazilian rendition goes for a complete white face and a hairstyle reminiscent of the 1988 film version. In the Brazilian adaptation, both hands and face are entirely painted white, and interestingly, the beard is also painted, possibly to match the wig. The American version, in contrast, features a more gradual and understated coloration, at least in my view.

Analysis of part 2 and 5 of the first image and part 3 and 5 of the second image:
Furthermore, there's a subtle detail that might go unnoticed at first glance, but upon closer inspection, it becomes quite evident: the US version features horizontal stripes on the sleeves, whereas the BR version has vertical stripes on the arms. Additionally, the white fabric in the Brazilian rendition is darker than its US counterpart, giving it a somewhat dirtier appearance. Also, the makeup on the teeth was also a great detail in the BR version.

Small details of parts 3, 4 and 5 of the first image and analysis of part 4 of the American version:
Beetlejuice in the USA production wears a simple vertically striped button-up shirt underneath his equally striped suit. In contrast, the Brazilian version also features a simple button-up shirt, but what truly catches the eye are the chop-like details on the white shirt, adding an extra layer of visual interest. Furthermore, the placement of the buttons resembles a spine, although my only critique is that the shirt itself appears too pristine, somewhat contrasting with the character's overall 'dirtier' look. Perhaps some minor scuff and stain details on the shirt could harmonize it with the rest.

Moving on, the US Beetlejuice incorporates small fabric and tie details to convey a sense of dirtiness, while the Brazilian Beetlejuice features tiny beetles scattered across the suit and tie, which adds a charming touch. However, I must agree that the completely black tie on the Brazilian Beetlejuice is a standout choice and personally, I prefer it over the US version.
Analysis of item 6:
The Brazilian counterpart's shoes are rounder and darker, while the American version's shoes are pointed and lighter. There isn't much to comment on in this aspect.

4. Conclusion:
Exploring the nuanced differences between the Broadway and Brazilian adaptations of Beetlejuice has been a lovely journey. From makeup choices to shirt details and tie designs, each version brings its unique flair to the beloved character.

These distinctions not only highlight the creativity of the production teams but also offer fans a fresh perspective on a character we know and love. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of Beetlejuice that allows for such diverse interpretations.
I hope you've enjoyed this closer look at the details that set these two renditions apart. As a Beetlejuice enthusiast, I can't help but appreciate the dedication and artistry that goes into each adaptation. Until next time, fellow fans!
I plan to do a review for Lydia!
