I have a handful of collected old skeleton keys. Maybe it's the history of them. Something so special about old keys just speaks to my soul. It's probably partly because of the beautiful shapes and designs along with the patina. With having old door knobs that are original to our 1885 home, even though we do not have the original skeleton keys, we are able to find some replica keys. They go in but do not work as they have been painted over. One of these days, they will all be restored to its beauty.
