BTW anodyne 1 is not exactly necessary context for anodyne 2, like, you may recognize “Hey! the floating face thing with one line of dialogue!” but like theres not much especially significant to the main story, which is all new characters and new locations. but also ano1 is also good in a very different way and i liked it a lot and its short and cheap. you might get some things out of playing ano1, seeing the evolution of the art and gameplay and writing, but like, Ehhhh, the story and experience of ano2 stands entirely on its on
