BRAINWORMS - CSI is a nick stokes/warrick brown fic that takes place after season 2 episode 19 in which (spoilers for smth that aired almost 21 years ago?) in which nick gets stalked. the stalker kills two people and lived in nick's attic, so at the end of the episode nick is obviously traumatized, he has broken ribs n shit and his apartment is a crime scene, SO obviously he should just live at warrick's house for a bit. it only makes sense. (this is for some ungodly reason a rarepair i don't get it they've been my roman empire since i was a pre-teen and there's next to nothing about them like what the fuck dude) i'm putting a snippet under cut bc i have ok words about this one heh

Warrick insists on Nick sleeping in the bed, broken ribs and all. Nick tries to argue that Warrick is too tall for the couch but the man’s not hearing it. What are you gonna do about it? He showers. Scrubs his skin red. He wants the feeling off but it won’t go. It’s different when it’s you. It’s so different. Warrick doesn’t mention it when he helps apply new bandages to his back afterwards.

“I should’ve caught him, before.”

“What’s happened, happened,” Nick says, slowly.

“It wouldn’t have if I got him.”

“Warrick… you did what made sense. We couldn’t have known.”
