What are your thoughts on analog horror

oh i fucking adore the concept of the genre but i think most of the media that uses it eventually fails to understand what makes it appealing. that or i'm just picky with my view of it. i think it's a type of content that doesn't *need* to have a plot that feels concrete, something that you can watch and be entirely sure of events; it's very much the opposite. the more understandable the events are, the less effective it becomes. just let the brain fill the gaps and see what it becomes. ...this is just a small portion of my essay find out more on the next chapter where i talk about why the mandela catalogue is so disappointing and petscop fuckin rules. release date unknown but the opinion stands

#ask the leg #i know i sound pretentious but like. having a passion with horror from my neurodivergent point of view is upsetting at times #so many people misunderstanding what makes them uncomfortable and yet you see it clear as day because its just something you see regularly #like when not watching horror #i have this thing that is like. really stupid. it bothers me to HELL every time but i NEVER tell anyone who i dont talk with regularly #because its stupid. #its stupid to be deeply uncomfortable by *pictures* of real people looking at the camera! bc its a normal & inoffensive thing to deal with! #but the Mandela catalogue showed these pictures #distorted. unrecognizable. no longer safe. and looking right at you. and you have a hard time finding out what is so scary about it #what is so wrong that makes you feel uneasy #i felt like i was watching a guide to my fears being explained to the neurotypical #and i loved it.
