if i could have one wish it would be to be able to write the music i currently don’t have the skills to write

#i’ve made a couple of songs before but they’re all very generic in terms of melody/chord progression #and i also am soooo bad at lyrics lmfao half of the songs in my voice memo app are just hummed or mumbled incoherently to a tune #i know that to improve at something you have to keep practicing but i genuinely don’t think i know enough to create what i want to create #i need someone like mitski to sit me down and teach me everything she knows about music and music theory #that’s why i first started making song covers on garageband bc it lets me study/analyse the different parts of a song #like i’m hoping that dissecting my favourite songs and reassembling them into my own versions will help me learn better songwriting? #idk if that actually helps but still #i need someone with a good understanding of songwriting to be my mentor pls and thank u ♥️
