alicent as a momma’s girl is so special to me

#i think otto was almost certainly a hashtag absentee father until his kids were old enough to be useful to him #(he’s very guy who hasn’t ever held a baby in his entire life-coded) #so alicent ended up overly attached to her mom the only present parent and felt like she was competing with otto for her love and attention #also there’s something so tragic about the idea that she had a very close relationship with her mom and a nonexistent one with otto #and then her mom fucking dies and she’s stuck with otto and part of her kind of resents him for being the only parent she has left #and all this on top of the fact that we know her mom was the more religious one and that alicent’s religion is very connected to her #and that the faith of the seven is a religion that teaches you to love and honor your parents #so i imagine there’s a lot of guilt that comes along with resenting him for being the parent who didn’t die #which only makes it easier for him to manipulate her #alicent hightower
