Uninvited Guest (Y! Utsuro x Reader)
tw: stalking, technically "breaking and entering", unlawful surveillance, cyber-stalking, vague threats to other people (not reader), slow-burn
Idea from @dra-and-sdra2-imagine-writer , your Yandere! Utsuro headcanons were 👌 I just made it progressively more aggressive.
It's like he's just trying to get caught at this point.
Imma make more too.

A lot of strange things have been happening lately. Not all of them are good but you're trying to make the best out of your situation. For a long time, you've been receiving some really weird notes in your locker. Other times, you've found gifts placed in your locker or even creepier, on your front doorstep. Seems like most of the notes you were getting were just printed out, very few of them had the person's handwriting on it. From what you had, you had no idea who it was.
Now neither of these things would be so alarming if whoever left you this stuff would stop figuring out all of your new locker combinations, and... well, know where you lived of course.
You've changed it a dozen times at this point. You explained it to your friends, even reported it to Tsurugi! Due to the nature of the notes and presents being left to you being "non-hostile", people told you to just take it easy. Basically, since you're not being threatened, no one other than you cares that this is happening.
=
"You've just got a secret admirer."
"Akane, they broke into my locker. Several times."
"They never took anything right?"
"Right..."
"And they haven't left threats?"
"No."
"Then it's most likely harmless, just relax."
=
No one seemed to be taking you very seriously anymore. You've been wanting to figure who it was fast, as it was starting to really creep you out. They'd leave you small things you remarked to friends you wanted to save up for earlier in the week. A lot of the letters they left you often included generic lines of encouragement for tests or class assignments and presentations. Some were just motivation, a sort of pep talk, praising you for even getting out of bed. Those you could deal with and actually had you feeling better about yourself.
"I know you're going to do great today on [This week's assignment/project/presentation]!"
"Don't measure yourself by what you've accomplished today, sometimes getting out of bed is the only thing you can get done. It's ok if you don't accomplish everything you want to, just try not to get too behind and you'll be ok."
=
The ones that bothered you detailed intimate details about your life and your own insecurities.
"Have you heard from your mom lately? Her being overseas must have you worried at least a little bit. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you call her today. You should try doing that."
"Just because you think you're not worth it, doesn't mean that everyone thinks that way about you too. Please remember that."
=
The ones you dreaded getting contained remarks about close relationships you've had , usually right after a recent breakup. Which, just your luck, you've been getting a lot. In a sick way it was becoming comforting to you to read them, even if it was ingenuine of the writer to send them in the first place.
"They weren't worth the time you gave them."
"You'll find someone better."
"It'll only hurt for a little while, you'll completely forget all about them in time."
"You shouldn't have to cry over someone who wouldn't do the same for you."
"Remember that it's their loss, not yours."
=
The ones you felt actually could prove that this "secret admirer" had ulterior motives were the ones you pressured Tsurugi about most.
"I will make it so they never existed in the first place."
"You won't have to see more posts from them for much longer."
"They will wish for something quick when I get my hands on them."
=
You're starting to believe that Tsurugi thinks you're making parts of this whole thing up, just to get his attention, which is really pushing the importance of this whole ordeal for him to the bottom of his pile of responsibilities.
=
"Tsurugi, can't you do something about this? This shows "hostile" intent doesn't it?"
"Y/N, I'm trying the best I can here. I can't help you if you don't give me enough time to figure it out myself. Please, just stop overloading me, will you?"
"Tsurugi..."
"Give me a break. I'll get to finding this guy when I can. Don't forget that I don't work for just you. I'm helping you as a favor because you're my friend. Don't push me, this stuff takes time."
"....You're right.... I'm sorry for bothering you."
=
Most of your relationships happened online, and you only told a few people about them in the first place. Each time, you told the exact same people. After you do though, your suitors just seemed to lose interest in you and break it off when you thought things were fine. Or you get into a really bad fight that seemingly started from nothing. You've been accused of cheating despite your partner having no proof. The most hurtful ways things were broken off was when your partner would tell you things you never wanted to hear.
=
"I was only dating you to pass the time."
"I didn't really like you to begin with."
"You were just some side chick to me anyways."
"I can find someone ten times prettier than you within a week."
"Did you think I wouldn't end it with you if I found someone better?"
=
Or they just completely ghosted you of course, next thing you know you get a simple text that says "We're over" and they've blocked you on all forms of social media. You'd have to get a separate throwaway account to see that they got with a new girl or guy. You'd see that their new relationship overlapped time they had previously spent with you, and you have to stop yourself from being hurt all over again. These were the kind of things that got under your skin bad and left you in a bad mood for days afterwards.
You hate to think that someone you're close friends with would actually go out of their way to sabotage your relationships but it seemed like more than just a coincidence at this point. Sadly, not only did that mean someone has been seemingly making threats to hurt people for you, but they were possibly cyber-stalking you too.
=
Your dad recently had some security cameras installed around the outside of your two-story home. You weren't really worried about all the break-ins happening in the area before now.
The key word here being "before".
You knew that you could have missed it if you hadn't been paying close attention. The weird notes and random gifts you'd been receiving were the least of your problems now. You tried to tell yourself that you were fine, that nothing bad would happen to you or your family, but this is all becoming too much.
=
It was becoming rather late as you relaxed in your aunt's apartment. She was talking ecstatically to your dad about some party she would be attending next week in another room. Her voice seemed to travel through the thin walls in a way that was almost calming. You let out a yawn, you hadn't planned on staying here this long. You didn't really mind it though, the atmosphere was comfortable and it made your dad happy being around his little sister. She hasn't had visitors in a while and your dad kept checking in on her since she hadn't married yet. He said she was "vulnerable" and the point of being a big brother was to protect the people you cared about. For a moment that made you wish you had a big brother of your own to annoy like your dad does to your aunt.
Your dad entrusted you the "separate remote thingy" as he called it, basically it was a portable monitoring app on his phone that connected straight to the live feed displayed on the cameras set up around your home. He told you to check the cameras around the house every so often and you thought he was just being a little bit paranoid. For the first few hours, you hadn't really seen anything note worthy, besides for the neighbor's dog jumping the fence and roaming in your backyard for a while.
=
After a few hours, it became the only real thing to do. Social media was being boring, nothing important was happening, plus, most of your friends were already asleep by now. It sort of made you feel like a security guard in some regards but you treated it more like a game. You'd set a timer, give yourself 2 minutes to look at every camera view before changing to the next. At around 11, you finally spotted something worth being worried about. As soon as you did a double take of what you saw, you begged your dad to stay the night.
-
Someone waltzed right into your house like they owned the place. They knew exactly where your dad hid the spare key. Your father told you that he didn't invite anyone over while you've been gone. When you went home to find nothing had been stolen, you and your father worried that something much darker might be happening.
=
When you went back to review the footage with your father the next day, the both of you realized that wasn't the first time this certain someone made an appearance in your home uninvited. This person has been doing this for months. Despite it being an almost brand new system, it seemed the footage became grainy for the entire time the "man" was in "view". It didn't really help your paranoia or the police that the automatic light on your front porch would only flicker during the times this sinister visitor was entering your home. Whoever it was was always wearing a black hoodie, seemingly knew your house like the back of their hand, and was evading the only form of defense your home had.
=
What's worse is that you've never seen them leave. They must have known the cameras were there, and found a blind spot somewhere to escape. That would account for why their face could never be made out as well, they always had their head turned in a way that blocked it from view. That or they were living in your house during the day without your knowledge. You refused to think about that option.
You left statements with a fellow classmate, Tsurugi, so the matter could be brought under official investigation with your local police department. So far, nothing has really been made of it. Tsurugi told you that you should change the lock and make sure not to leave out an extra key just in case. Being a cop, you think his advice would help, but you were starting to believe that you may never be able to keep them out.
=
That made you feel ok enough to stay in your own bedroom at night, but you refused to go to sleep until that "feeling that something was about to happen" went away. You would wait, for many hours you'd wait for that sick feeling your stomach to just fucking leave so you could sleep in peace. It felt like you were being watched, not in a guardian angel kind of way either, it was like having an entire audience in your bedroom.
You told yourself several times that no one was there, you opened all of the doors that you possibly could, checked every damn spot in the house where someone could possibly hide. Your friends at school and even your teachers could see just how much sleep you were losing because of this. There were weeks that it became so hard to sleep that you had to beg someone to stay in your room with you. Akane was always nice enough to stay with you when seemingly no one else would. Knowing you weren't alone in that sense was much more comforting than what you were feeling before. You could at least get a few hours of sleep then.
=
Akane complained about hearing a beeping noise somewhere in your room once. You thought it was just you. For a while she told you it was probably just nothing, until she saw how small stuff like that was negatively affecting you mentally.
=
"Do you want to stay at my house tomorrow instead? Maybe you'd be a little more comfortable there."
"Anything to get a few hours of sleep...This is driving me crazy at this point. I think Tsurugi is just sweeping all of this under the rug too. I'm really not sure how much more of this I can take before I decide to tell my dad we should just move."
"Move? You can't move! Who am I supposed to have lunch with then? You promised!"
"I know but if I don't figure out whoever it is that's been leaving me all this stuff and breaking into my house at night, I'm never going to be able to sleep again."
"Wait, they broke in?"
"Well, not really "broke in", they seem to know where the spare was hidden. Several times, on random days they come into the house uninvited. That's one of the reason's it's so hard for me to sleep now. We have never seen them leave. It scares me that they're still here watching me. We've changed the locks and kept the key on a ring but it always ends right back in the guy's hand somehow. I'm getting sick of all of this, literally."
"Geez... I didn't know it got that bad..."
"I have a feeling it's going to get a lot worse if I don't do something about it soon."
"Y/N...."
=
Staying at other people's places seemed to be the only time you could get any peace anymore. You shuffled in between Akane's home, Kiyoka's home, your aunt's place, and some of your other friends who were rather happy to have a sleepover with you for once. Kanata seemed the most happy about it, as she never had one previously and now she's having one with you every other week. People like Yuki and Tsurugi always used the excuse that their parents wouldn't allow it, which was fine with you. There were plenty of people to "take shelter with" anyways.
After a while you felt ok enough to go home and finally sleep in your own room for once. Everything felt ok for a little while, until you heard a sound somewhere in your room, or you swore something or someone touched you the moment you were finally asleep. Then you're up in your bed with a sudden jolt, listening for anything to be concerned about. A squirrel outside, a branch of the cherry blossom tree outside tapping at your window, dogs barking a few houses over, you've learned to tune those kinds of things out by now. No, you're more interested in footsteps above or near you in your room, something shuffling in your closet, something moving under your bed, that damn beeping noise that you can't pinpoint and destroy.
=
You've become quite the light sleeper because of this whole ordeal. The littlest of things that "aren't normal" spook you awake. Many of your friends seemed to have noticed that too. Some think it's a good thing, and some just feel sorry for you.
Just as you told Akane earlier, you think things are about to get much worse. You and Akane are trying your hardest to get the police department to do something about all of this. You can't sleep anymore. The only thing that catches his attention is the small beeping noise that's been getting on your nerves for the past few weeks, or maybe it was months and you just hadn't realized it yet.
=
"You hear a beeping noise at night?"
"That's what you're curious about?"
"Well, yeah, it could mean someone has your room bugged. Camera, voice recorder, you name it, any of the devices could have that kind of tiny error."
"Well that would account to the feeling of being watched 24/7."
"I'll come by and search your room this afternoon after classes are over and see if I can't find whatever it is that's hidden there."
"Thank god....Thank you."
"I'm just doing my job. I'll see you later Y/N."
=
He found it.
He found the damn thing that was making that noise. He knew what the noise was too. It was the noise that signaled the switching on of a pinhole camera that was positioned right over your bed in your ceiling. You would have never found the thing, but he seemed to know what he was looking for. You were right, they've been watching you sleep. It's safe to say that Tsurugi one hundred percent believes you now, and that you may want to never sleep in your bedroom again. If this guy could access and bug it so easily, you may just want to stay out of the house completely. You felt like you could throw up and like a heavy weight just got lifted off of your shoulders at once.
Knowing you were the target this entire time was sickening. You would have been much happier to know that some homeless guy was just sleeping on your couch instead. Your dad told you to pack some of your things soon afterwards. It's time to move in with your aunt until this matter could be solved, or at least, until you could figure a way to keep the guy out permanently. You'll stay anywhere at this point, so long as it is safe.
=
To put it in the simplest of words possible, you are being stalked. Tsurugi believes that may be connected to the individual that is constantly entering your home at night, but never seems interested in taking anything. You have a sneaking suspicion that he's right, but still tell him that you have a feeling that it's someone they both know.
Further monitoring of the gifts, letters, and the camera footage for your home are being processed the moment you find something new to review. Your friends all seemed shocked that someone would go so far to get to you. No one seems to be able to say anything to actually make you feel any better about anything going on.
=
Except for Akane, and Utsuro, who's both been acting odd recently. That you can shake off easily enough, Akane is like a mother figure to many people at school, and Utsuro, well, he mostly keeps to himself. Akane must have talked him into trying to help you, to bless you with luck to make sure that this case gets solved as soon as possible. For right now, you're just glad no one doubts you anymore, because that would have absolutely caused you to leave town with your father, like he suggested the second you started getting gifts sent to your home.
