i feel like my TRUE dream job would be a tour guide for my home state tbh

i met a tour guide in iceland (and stayed in touch via social media) and i loved how he was excited to show us all some hidden gems and talk about his home country and i’m like... “i want to do something like that for my home state”

but no one ever comes to nebraska!! only to the big cities and leave or worse - just drive thru or fly over the state cause it’s  b o r i n g

#aside from the politics i promise nebraska is worth a visit #there's so much to see and do outside omaha/lincoln and interstate 80 #the sandhills are beautiful to behold!! western neb is a total different landscape than eastern neb!! #lots of state parks and historical monuments to check out!! #delicious foods to try even have international cuisines!! #also there's nothing wrong with visiting the cities. there is plenty to see and do there! but it is def worth exploring rest of nebraska #i've traveled around neb plenty of times and there's still always something new to for me to explore #i need to visit western neb more. i've only been to fort robinson and chimney rock/scottsbluff areas #want to check out toadstool state park & agate fossil beds. AND just for curiosity's sake... carhenge lol #just to say i've been there and seen that #ALSO!! nebraska does this passport thing each year. basically its filled with places to visit and get a stamp from there #and submit your passport by end of the year to win neat prizes depending on how many stamps collected #don't mind sakizm
