Hi!
At this point it's quite literally just a list of Indian characters and what went wrong in their representation, like I've got working directly for the British Monarchy along with having no personality other than hot, complete rejection of Indian culture, etc. I'd have to edit it to make it actually make sense, but maybe I will when I get the time!
Like my family has varying tastes with media, but we all absolutely adored The Unlisted and like it was literally a typo that led me to find the show in the first place! That part when they are doing pooja during Diwali - it was the first time I've ever seen a pooja on television for Diwali. Like yes there's a celebration afterwards but they do pooja first! And like Dru and Kal and Vidya! My children!
That scene very much does exist! The really funny part is that Reagan (The girl who witnessed it) gets a recording of it and shows it to a teacher, hoping to get Kal in trouble and the teacher is thrilled by it rather than upset.
hola!! an indian character??? working with the monarchy???? i have never heard of that and frankly am too afraid to seek it out myself.. okay my one little ick about desi characters rejecting their culture is because it's too "strict" and doesn't let them do the things they want to, when it's so much more multifaceted than that! like give me a better reason than "I can't date white people T-T" or "I don't want to be a doctor </3"
"having no personality other than hot, complete rejection of Indian culture" which is exactly why pavitr is such a breath of fresh air. so unabashedly indian AND equipped with good looks. insane. love that boy
personally I haven't done any poojas for Diwali so seeing the fam do it on The Unlisted was surprising AND informative! Dru and Kal and Vidya,,,,, the babies!! The fact I don't remember much about them really does mean i need to rewatch the show, damn 😭
Teachers when they see this kid kick a trashcan five million feet into the air: You would make a fine super soldier boy >:))) [nefarious laughter]
(ngl the tooth implants got me shaking way back then, like that was just foul. what about those kids who had horrendous tooth arrangements (me). how are you going to get through all that mess. i would cry and leave like Dru like I'm too much of a wimp)

E3 2017: Microsoft Conference Summary
Xbox One X reveal/Briefing intro: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h00m15s
Intro by Xbox robot man, Phil Spencer going over some of the basic info on what the conference will be about. Also the first taste of how many times the terms 4K and Gamers will be used. Introduction of Xbox One X as the most powerful console to date @01h03m46s. YO THOSE TERAFLOPS MY GAMERS. Overall spec talk about the console and many of the terms may not mean much to the average person. The console is focusing on 4K gaming with some emphasis on HDR. Has compatibility for older TVs and Xbox 360 games, later on in the conference it is also noted that all Xbox One consoles will have backwards compatibility with original Xbox games. If you want more of the tech specs you can watch the whole section or look up some of the specs that will be put online at some point I’m sure.
Forza 7 Trailer: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h09m17s
New trailer for Forza 7 with no real game detail yet.
Forza Presentation with Dan Greenawalt: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h10m56s
Talks about Forza becoming a premiere partner for the automotive industry and we get to see another car on stage. I think this makes for the fifth year in a row. This is basically the sports section from EA, so if cars are your thing, check this section out otherwise, it probably isn’t worth your time.
Forza 7 Gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h13m35s
Looks pretty good, runs in 4K and at 60 fps so looks like the new console has some good specs to actually power some of the new games coming out. Honestly looks pretty good so if you like the racing games it looks pretty sweet!
Return of the Robot: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h16m11s
Phil Spencer gets back on stage to talk more about 4K and 60fps, also mentions that they will be showing a bunch of different games for everyone to see, totaling at 42 games with 22 of those games being Xbox One exclusive. LAME. So, here we go (This is going to be a long post).
Metro Exodus: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h18m02s
Yes please. New metro game coming out! Super excited, looks like we won’t be stuck in the subway tunnels anymore, as we will be able to explore the world above ground more. It also looks like it will be out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC so that’s a plus. Overall solid reveal and am looking forward to more info in the future. Will be out sometime in 2018
Assassins Creed Origins: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h23m00s
I mean, it’s another Assassins Creed game. If you liked the others this one probably won’t be much different. Takes place in Egypt and it looks like the story will be focused around actually developing the assassin brotherhood, so that’s neat. Overall, not too excited but I’ll keep an eye out. Will be on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Ubisoft Shill Man: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h24m54s
Jean Guesdon from Ubisoft comes out to explain the storyline behind the new Assassins Creed game and generally talk about the development of the game.
Assassins Creed Origins Gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h26m32s
Some new abilities and weapons have been added to the game but it is your standard Assassins Creed gameplay. Looks like there may be more RPG elements like a persistent character level, along with different leveled equipment. Nothing terribly new but still looks alright. Again, if you liked the others you’ll like this one too. Will be out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Player Unknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h32m50s
Introduction of Brendan Greene, and the announcement of PUBG for the Xbox One family of consoles. If you have seen PUBG before this is nothing new but if you haven’t this is worth checking out especially if you have a group of people you like to play games with. Will be out on Xbox One, and PC.
PUBG trailer: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h33m42s
BANG BANG BANG. Pew Pew Pew. KaBOOM.
Deep Rock Galactic: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h35m39s
Interesting looking 4 person co-op game from a newly formed Danish Dev team. Aesthetic looks neat but overall didn’t really grab me. Having a little more to go on about this game would be nice. Look out for this game in the future. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
State Of Decay 2: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h36m48s
New State of Decay game, never played the first one but heard it was pretty good. No real gameplay reveal but it looks like it have made improvements over the first game. This will be an exclusive to Xbox One.
The Darwin Project: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h41m28s
Beware the Cringe. New battle royal style game with characters that have various super natural abilities. It also looks like it will have some kind of twitch integration, like viewers will be able to give you information or something along those lines. Strange that they would show this soon after PUBG which was also a battle royal game, but oh well. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
New Minecraft Content: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h43m37s
New skins for console players to buy along with improved effects to lighting, water, etc. The biggest thing to take away from this is the unification of each minecraft platform. That is to say, every platform that minecraft can be played on will now be able to connect with each other for cross platform play. This is actually really cool and exciting for people to play with each other. Will be on every platform known to man.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h48m13s
New Dragon Ball fighting game, which is pretty sweet. Looks similar to the other games, so if you like those, you will probably enjoy this. It looks ridiculous as all get out and hopefully a new addition to the fighting game scene. Will probably be out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Black Desert (Online?): https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h49m42s
Korean MMORPG, don’t really know what else to say about it. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
The Last Night: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h51m49s
HOLY HELL, this game looks amazing. Looks like a 2.5D side scrolling adventure noire game, with a sci fi setting. Has amazing lighting and pixel work and just AH, looks freaking great. Really excited to see more about this game in the future. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means. :(
The Artful Escape: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h53m10s
Weird but interesting, looks like some kind of 2.5D platformer but like, what is even going on? Tripy as hell with some really cool visuals. Not much in terms of gameplay detail or general idea of what the game is going to be about, but it looks neat. Also, releasing when it’s damn ready. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
CodeVein: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h54m29s
New rpg game from Bandi Namco, basically anime dark souls. Looks neat but if anime isn’t your thing probably avoid it. We’ll see how it is once more information about the game has been revealed. Looks like it will be out sometime in 2018. Unsure of what consoles it will be on.
Sea Of Thieves: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=01h56m07s
YARRRR. A new pirate game from Rareware which is a treat. We haven’t had a really good pirate game in a long time so this looks promising. The style is nice and the overall gameplay looks fun. It will be nice to get a little more detail as the presentation of the game is rather scripted. Will be an Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive. Coming out early 2018.
Tacoma: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h04m51s
Wut? Uh, I mean, there was really NOTHING shown? This game may already have a bunch of info about it online so uh, ya. It looks neat, I guess. Will be out on August 2nd. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
Super Lucky’s Tail: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h05m31s
New 2D/3D platformer in the vein of banjo kazooie and other collect-a-thon games. Nice aesthetic and the usual platformer gameplay. Will be an Xbox One exclusive and be out on November 7th.
Cuphead: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h08m13s
Final look at Cuphead with a newly announced release date of September 29th. Sadly, it looks like it has been changed to an Xbox One exclusive which is really disappointing. Hopefully, this is not actually the case. Regardless, this looks like a great game and if you do have an Xbox One I would strongly suggest checking it out.
Crackdown 3: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h09m03s
Never really played Crackdown, looks like a wacky 3rd person shooter, with various sandbox elements. Looks interesting but probably isn’t really my thing. From what I heard, Crackdown 2 was kinda meh, so hopefully Crackdown 3 will be better. Will be an Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive. It will be out on November 7th.
Game Sizzle Real: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h11m44s
A bunch of games coming to Xbox One like Osris New Dawn, Raiders(?), Unruly Heroes, Path Of Exile, Battlerite, Surviving Mars, Fable Fortune, Observer, Robocraft, Dunk Lords, Minion Masters, Brawlout, Ooblets, Dark and Light, Strange Brigade, Riverbond, Hello Neighbor, Shift, and Conan Exiles. Neat.
Ashen: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h14m31s
This game looks sweet, solid aesthetic and the gameplay looks like Dark Souls combat. Looking forward to new info about it and when we can actually see some gameplay. Looks like it will be a launch exclusive, whatever that means.
Life is Strange Before the Storm: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h16m22s
SHIT, IT’s here. New Life is Strange game that will be a prequel to the events that happen in the original Life is Strange. This will be a 3 part episodic adventure and it looks like it will be pretty sweet. Looking forward to more detail about it. It will be out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Middle Earth: Shadow Of War with Michael De Plater: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h18m04s
Another really good looking game from Monolith and a continuation of the events of Shadow of Mordor. Looks like they have really improved since the last game and it’s exciting to see some solid gameplay. Also, return of the British 40K orcs, nice. The game looks solid so far and I am excited for it to come out. Will be on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It will release on October 10th. (WOOOOOO!)
Ori and the Will of the Wisp: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h25m11s
:,(
This better not be exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10 >:(
Phil(ing) in the Time: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h27m50s
Announcement that ORIGINAL Xbox games will be playable on the Xbox One, which is actually really awesome and Xbox One games will be getting updates/graphical updates for the Xbox One X. Good choice by the guys working on the Xbox One. The backwards compatibility feature should be out sometime in late 2017. The updates for the Xbox One games will be out at varying times. Finally, Xbox One S’s will be out this week for 249$, and Xbox One X consoles will be rolled out on November 7th, for 499$.
Anthem Presentation/Gameplay with Jon Warner: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/151151545?t=02h34m30s
Yoooo, this looks pretty sweet. It’s going to be competing with Destiny for sure. We’ll see which one is better. Sadly it’s an Xbox One exclusive so there goes that.
END OF CONFERENCE.
(My thoughts below the cut.)
Welp, that was a lot better than EA’s conference. While there weren’t a bunch of NEW games that have been revealed, we did get confirmation on games coming to the console which is good. While I think the 42 game reveal was a bit much it was much better than just corporate talk like the EA conference. The one major problem I had was the constant mention of EXCLUSIVE games for the Xbox One. Which is great and all but like, WHY? Why, do you want only the people who buy our console to play these games? If you love games as an art form, why are you trapping them behind a 250$ minimum pay wall? Regardless, some cool games were shown and we got some great info on games coming out soon. Overall, a solid conference.
