on god i wouldve been less annoyed at kairi getting nerfed immediately if they actually showed her being nervous and not looking forward to fighting?? like all those little scenes she had with axel wouldve been SO good for her to talk about HER anxieties about the upcoming fight and how she doesnt really want to but knows she has to and she wants to protect her friends more. and even a little scene of axel and kairi sparring wouldve been good if only to show THEIR inexperience with keyblade fighting. axel still treats his keyblades as a chakram and evidently isnt strong enough to keep it manifested and kairi just tries really hard to copy the people around her and is also weak as hell cuz shes not used to it. it wouldve been so cool to SHOW some of that if only a little. instead we got kairi talking to sora in her head abt wanting to see him again and kairi talking to axel while he has his emotional vulnerablity moments. exactly ZERO about kairi herself. and the entire time she just looked cheerful and calm and not at all visibly worried about her friends the upcoming dangerous fight LITERALLY NOTHING
