they would still have em, aye! if smth isn't broken don't fix it, basically. who knows what complete puppet removal could do to the balance of the systems. but they would be more or less discarded similarly to what Notos did with its puppet. throw a blanket over it, put it on the floor and ignore it since it isn't useful anymore really

in that hypothesized scenario where they'd go whale mode during the Ancient times, the puppets would prolly still be in use since talking to the giant whale body wouldn't really work all that well. too small to be seen..... doesn't mean that Sparrows wouldn't be a complete wild ass n not decide that "Yeah aight i'mma go down to one of the four small eyes on the side n try to talk with Caper like That" after she calms down from her shaky mixer stage of road to acceptance
