the “mommy issues creates writers” thing in reference to darling is so.. it’s just so. yk. so i think that queen charming was the mother that forgot her childhood dreams of being a rebel, an adventurer to be a mother, to do what’s best for her children and darling is the daughter that dared to do what her mother didn’t, break the mold. she collects stories of adventure to tell her mom so queen charming knows that she raised a child who isn’t afraid. darling writes these stories in small journal. when the journal is full, stained with dirt and ink, she’s at school. when she wrote the closing notes, it’s a night illuminated by moonlight. with the spirit of one doused in this adventure, she slipped out of school grounds to get to her castle. the journal of her life was tight her hand as she walked to her mothers room. in front of the closed, gilded door, darling placed the stained book on polished floor and knocked..
