#im not gonna evaluate the same patient as yesterday #but the thought of being in the office alone w a patient is. making me tense #and i need to be as neutral as possible #and im locking the door at any and every interval #bc im scared. its stupid. ITS STUPID im fine i was just upset yesterday #ill be fine i just gotta get over today #ill start off w one of my fave patients who is always lovely to work with #and i know he wouldnt attack me #and work my way through that #itll be fine i just gotta. stop freaking out

i’ve almost had a full week in my new residency and i’m so 🥺🥺🥺 its so wonderful to be back with low vision patients and playing eyeball games with the kids 😭😭😭 one of my patients had the same rare syndrome as me and i was reminded of Exactly why i wanted this position.

it’s def gonna be a lot of work. yesterday i met with my research advisor and we came up with a tentative project where we look at visual function of patients with cortical visual impairment and evaluate our current screening surveys to see if they’re capturing all levels of function or perhaps if its missing milder cases. we may also look if theres consistency of responses across pts with various neurodev dxs. which is like WILD and my advisor def filled in a lot of those blanks but i’m SO interested and i’m hoping it’ll actually teach me statistics 😂😂😂

anyway its been a slow but good start. i have my first mon and tues next week which will be low vision and vision therapy days. SO stoked to do VT again. this year is going to be such an incredible experience yall im so hype 🤩

#i also got PAID yesterday how WILD to be getting MONEY for WORK #im v nervous abt this research but also because the dr scares me a little cause shes so SMART but shes so kind #the schedule was wonky so we only started working w each other yesterday but it gets regular after that #so it’ll be Fine #ugh i’m so glad i matched with this program i’m truly living my doctor dreams #jm #eyeballs #dr jem #is decidedly my doctor tag
