actually u know what there is a difference between toxic positivity (e.g largely unhelpful 'mental health' tips that boil down to 'just stop being sad/anxious/upset'), actual positivity (which helpfully combats Toxic Cynicism) and Toxic Positivity 2 where u get called cringe for talking bluntly abt ur mental illness

#this isn't directed at anything in particular its more of a general observation #cause u have the p common subset of ppl who are like 'It Helps if You Just Breathe' as if thats some sage wisdom nobody else has uncovered #and then u have like chronic cynics who cannot let ANYBODY have fun for even a second and have to make everything about how shitty life is #and conversely u've got like. Actually Positive ppl who are realistic + pragmatic but like. try to look on the bright side #but THEN there are some ppl who Think they're Actually Positive but really they just. hold everyone to the exact same standard #and judge you if you don't meet THEIR expectations of what mental illness looks like #im sorry that i haven't tried to unalive myself recently enough for you. but i have a clinical diagnosis- #anyway #/vent
