this is not haterism but rather an observation of the fact that people seem to forget the byers’ are close like that because they’ve suffered together. that sort of dynamic is born out of realizing worse and scarier things exist in the world than each other and having witnessed each other be abused . they aren’t just Like That, it’s the result of witnessing/experiencing something horrible and suddenly the thought of hurting each other or abandoning each other becomes way more personal and way less easy or fun. if it hadn’t been for what they suffered, i imagine the byers would’ve been a lot more like the sinclairs

#i am seeing some interesting reads on the byers family #a lot of that protectiveness and fierce love comes from a place of having seen each other be hurt #we see mike become way more protective of will in s2 because of what happened #the byers were abused by lonnie for Years #joyce isn’t overprotective and paranoid to that degree naturally #jonathan’s fear of leaving and that gentle care he has with will isn’t just bc he has always been that way #will and el are obviously as close as they are bc. have you watched the show #it’s interesting how some people see them as the ideal family dynamic #imo the ideal dynamic is the sinclair family #or the hendersons
