everyone in this story is insane. the seperation of yan qing and su si, shi jingzhi's past, yin ci unwillingness to continue living, kongshi and yan budu's ending. making everyone face their inner demons, and yin ci's is the most monstrous one as per usual (the man lived for 300 years so ya know).

And kongshi/yan budu's ending leaves so many complex emotion in me like fellas this is the most homoerotic vibe of two enemies getting to know together before realising one is ruthless and kill discriminately while the other one is empathic to all beings to the point of indifference. THEN they died in the same place different time, one dying giving medicine while other dying giving apricots. Its not romantic but damn the narrative tension is there for sure.
