30/30 #inkyapril Reference: Ian Allenden I was almost home when the ‘Check Tire Pressure’ light came on. It had been raining earlier in the evening, but wasn’t at the moment, so I pulled into the gas station closest to my house. It was closed, but the air pressure machine is always available and, more importantly, free. As I unscrewed the cap to the tire, I muttered aloud, “How much do you wanna bet that it’s Mr. Front Driver Tire that’s low? Because it’s ALWAYS Front Driver Tire!” It is. And it was. Surprise, surprise. One of the references I looked at of a woman filling her tires had her SMILING. I never smile when filling my tires. Because it is ALWAYS after midnight and usually during inclement weather. But at least it wasn’t freezing cold this time. 21/30. #inkyapril Reference: Dave Hoefler Yeah it sucks. On the way home the fog was really thick along I680. I80 was even worse. By the time I took the Gretna exit, I couldn’t see the lights at the Wickersham intersection until I was practically upon them. The same for the lights at 168th. The closer I got to home, the denser it became. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty in a scary kind of way. I was driving a good 15 miles under the speed limit in fear that some critter - possibly a deer - would be out and about and I wouldn’t see it until too late. I wanted to reproduce that effect in the photo reference, but I’m afraid I wasn’t up to the task. It isn’t exactly something you can draw... not really. Or at least I can’t. 17/30 #inkyapril Reference: Sander Sammy Would it have been better to wait so I could have done this either in pencil or digitally? Maybe. Getting small details would have been a lot easier, that’s for sure. I found myself doing that reverse pinching gesture that enables you to zoom in while working with Procreate on several occasions. Doesn’t really work with sketchbooks. LOL I wanted to draw this for a while because of the soldier’s fierce expression. A change of pace from what you see in the typical portrait.
