i think wax would've been a funnier character if marasi had never actually had romantic feelings for him at all so he's having chapters long internal debate on whether or not to pursue her and how if he ends up with someone who reminds him of lessie he's going to repeat his mistakes and he's in this hurricane of self doubt all while marasi is just vibing. like only following him around cause she wants to learn lawkeeping and actively losing >5% of her hero worship every single second she sees him in the cowboy hat
