#it was a nightmare with late-developing acne because all the “universal” products didn't work for me

hello! i was wondering if you enjoy skincare and if so, what products you use. you don't show much of your face on camera, but your skin always looks so clear when you do! no need to answer, hope you and wednesday have a nice evening :)
i wouldn't say that i "enjoy" skincare but i do have a routine. i had bad acne for a long time at an age when most people had outgrown it (18-24), and it was really painful, made me feel insecure, etc. it was difficult because when i was researching there was too much information and i didn't know who to trust. i couldn't work out what worked for my skin. it was a nightmare, especially because the new age of skincare (10 step, glass, etc) was already upon us and it made everything so overwhelming and confusing.
anyway the tl;dr is that eventually i did find what worked, and i've been using the same loop of products consistently for years and my skin is a lot better (which im still scared to say in case i jinx it).
in the morning i wash my face with dermalogica 'special cleanser', then apply neutrogena 'hydro boost' gel moisturiser (my daytime moisturiser). if i go out, i'll apply sunscreen before applying makeup, and i use supergoop 'play' (spf 50) because i think it has a nice consistency and the smell isn't annoying.
in the evening, if i wore make up in the day, i'll use the dermalogica 'precleanse' which is an oil based cleanser, then the same face wash from the morning. if i didn't wear make up i'll usually skip the precleanse (unless i feel really gross). i use the paula's choice '2% bha exfoliating liquid' every 3-4 days, and my overnight moisturiser is 'cicapair tiger grass sleepair intensive mask' and i honestly think this is the product that has made the biggest difference to my skin over time (healing, lightening scars, etc).
if i get small breakouts/little pimples, i follow the usual overnight routine and then apply scarface 'hydrostars' to the affected areas and it usually clears up. i like these a lot, and they really work for me.
the nice thing about all of these products is that a little really goes a long way, so each time i need to replace them, im not so stressed about the cost because it all lasts a good 3-4 months (if not more). i used to have a lot of worry about spending on skincare, but my acne was really affecting my wellbeing, and now it's improved i'm completely unwilling to change the routine lol.
hope that's the kind of info u were looking for
