I talked about this the other day but this scene is the source of my “Monty is kinda protective of Carl, specifically where his dad is concerned” headcanons. Between this and PnF Save Summer, I basically headcanon Monty as Carl’s biggest fan, which really fits with this series’ tendency to have little siblings adore their elder siblings

#carl's also tiny so it's hard to remember he's four or five years older than monty bare minimum #(though carl's age is a bit ambiguous #he's in college but he also was already working for owca in the five years ago flashback in 2d #which means either he's been in college for five years which is believable #or he started owca as a high school intern in the same way that vanessa mentions in last day of summer #given his excited 'a teenage girl? where?' line in does this duckbill make me look fat #i tend to skew younger #if he's twenty/twenty one during canon #it's easy to write off as him assuming 'teenage = eighteen/nineteen' and therefore in his age group #rather than him being in his twenties and skeeving on a potential teenager #also chalked up to early installment weirdness and not putting a lot of effort into inconsistencies #but the line does suggest that he's young enough to still have teenager in his age group AND it's canon that owca hires high schoolers #so it's not a real stretch) #(yes i am aware that dwampy apparently think mid-twenties/teenager is an acceptable pairing but as usual i will be ignoring any implications #from act your age for the sake of my headcanons and my stability #so there) #also i just realized monty is taller than his dad which is cute #oh yeah i was saying something #carl is tiny so it's hard to remember he's older than monty #especially since monty is such a badass already at eighteen #but monty is still the little brother in this scenario
