fragrance: what do your OCs smell like?
VESPER — very very very faintly of a fire. mostly of whatever soaps and lotions josie foists on her. she likes the warmer, spicier scents, but doesn't really know enough about cosmetics and all that to realize that josie is paying attention and adjusting her requisitions accordingly DAI — naturally smells a little rich and earthy (it's the earth genasi thing) and also sliiightly of ozone (it's the lvl 15 cleric thing). he doesn't wear cologne or perfume, but he's grown fond of a specific soap/shampoo (probably one scratch or izzy bought on a whim) that has a kind of winter pine forest thing going on (notes of cedar and spice or whatever) which is understated but nice. he's one of those people that smells really good all the time and doesn't realize it MINAH — one of minah's guilty pleasures is smelling nice. she especially likes lighter smells—citrus or jasmine, a touch of lavender or sandalwood. the first time she got her split of the take with the orchestra, she bought a tiny bottle of some pleasant antivan fragrance. she saves her perfumes for when they're in town—no point wasting it on the road when everything smells like dirt and horse and sweat. (she still has a couple half-empty bottles tucked away with the rest of her makeup kit, but there's not much point in using them these days. mostly she smells like soap when she's had the opportunity for a bath and sweat when they're out traipsing through the summer heat and blood when there's fighting.)
poison: vices/bad habits? what are they? how do they affect your OC?
VESPER — vesper has a tendency to drink, self-flagellate, and overwork herself. she's also pretty good at hiding all of that (except for the overworking, but that's just inquisition life and nothing special). there was a particularly rough period after adamant when all three of these coincided and nobody knew what a mess she was until bull and dorian caught her in a particularly miserable moment and staged an intervention. eventually they got it through her head that she should rely more on her friends, which she does. (she also has a horrible temper, but it's slow to explode and she's gotten much better at channeling it productively, like towards blowing up enemy combatants.) DAI — he's got just a bit 🤏 of a martyr complex, but it's not nearly as strong or self-destructive as it used to be. he also tends to be inflexible in his morals and his opinions about what's right and wrong, but that's also been vastly improved. probably he could talk about his feelings more, but all in all he's doing much better than before! MINAH — besides the thieving, minah's biggest bad habit is avoidance. she's very good at it and has no desire to change. she keeps everyone at a pleasant arm's length, refuses to talk about or think about anything personal, and fakes it til she makes it. she's gotten very good at faking it; she's still working on the making it part
conspiracy theory: what are your OC’s beliefs? are they skeptics or do they believe easily? who acts on blind faith? who needs to see to believe?
VESPER — vesper was raised devout and had a crisis of faith in her teens that has resulted in a mild skepticism that generally comes across as curiosity. while she's lost most faith in the chantry's teachings, she's seen too much of the fade and the oddities of magic to brush off myths as being only fanciful tales. it's not blind faith so much as considerate faith—she'll believe her own eyes and her own judgement, even when the conclusion is something that seems impossible. she knows from her own personal experience there's way more going on than what the stories tell (and she's always interested in learning more) DAI — what's funny is that despite being an incredibly devoted cleric of one god and paladin of another, he's a bit of a skeptic. he's generally disinclined to believe in other people deities (in a faith or trust sort of way, not in an "other gods exist" sort of way; obviously there are other gods out there and he's met (and made) a few). he needs proof to back his believing; faith for him is very much a measured, considered thing and he's not one to be blindly faithful of anyone or anything, even his own god(s). MINAH — was also raised devout and had a bit of a falling out with the church, by which I mean she made a 180˚ swing into aggressive skepticism and distrust of belief as a whole. chantry, cult, elvhen pantheon, she doesn't care, she won't believe unless she can see concrete proof with her own eyes. one of her fun distrusting quirks.
