I’m just repeating here… but…. This episode came out the year she escaped! After years of trauma and abuse and literal hell! THIS is the joke they decide to go with

 “she’s barely human” cool. That’s a real cool thing to say about a kid who grew up under horrific abuse.

#and sam has absolutely 0 empathy this episode and its bad! #like dean makes bad jokes but sam is really frigging weird #and im going to break both of their nico nico kneecaps

 And both of them end up dead :) cause that’s the right thing to do, the right trope to write

 AGAIN! Dean tries to emphasize. Realize that maybe what he did in hell wasn’t his fault, but a result of lifelong torture? And Sam goes “they were barely human”. And then Dean calls them “animals defending territory”.

No. Fuck You. They were humans under horrific circumstances, but they were still human beings who should have gotten therapy and help instead of being horrifically murdered. Add to that the comparison with a real life case of lifelong abuse and you’ve got yourself this victim blaming, dehumanizing, ableist shitstain of an episode

 Also… why do so many people say family remains scared them badly? It’s a very typical horror movie plot and there’s nothing revolutional about it
