her resolve falters as he wraps his hand around hers and the gaze that had been eluding him finally meets his eyes. there are countless words she longs to say, but she believes silence may be the wiser choice. despite all logical reasons urging them to maintain their distance, she remains as vulnerable in his presence as she was before, no matter how desperately she wishes to leave their past behind. they are better off without each other in their lives, or at least it’s what she’s been trying to convince herself. "cam... you know we shouldn't." her voice trembles involuntarily and she casts her eyes downward, not knowing where to look as she scrambles for strength. "is this even worth it?" both of them know the voice of reason, yet the question lingers: will they ever listen?
