Just to correct a previous anon. The Just Like You was not created by Syco, they had nothing to do with it. They were only licensed to handle Louis music. He creates his own videos. I can’t remember the name of the company but it was an independent production company that made the video.
Okay, so I did some research. I can’t find a clearly credited source for the art or production of the “Just Like You” lyric video. Some people attributed it to Kaleidagon (David Kitson), who created the lyric video for “Two of Us” and the Away From Home Festival artwork.
Louis said the song was important to him, but it seems Sony was hesitant release “Just Like You” at all. In spite of that, it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into the video. The references were meaningful and relevant. And the artist could have easily used dummy articles - but did not. I think that’s the most important takeaway.
Maybe that is why he didn’t do interviews about the festival.
Although I hope he gives some interviews after the festival 🤞
Maybe he wanted to save the vision and keep it fresh.
Also, judging by this clip, his interviews aren’t exactly spontaneous. In interviews associated with ex-Syco affiliated media, both the questions and answers seem to be prepared ahead of time.
I’m not saying that Louis’ documentary won’t be scrubbed as well, but it is coming very soon after the concert - just 5 days later. The backstage scenes will be shot live and edited on the run.
This reminds me a little bit of the Just Like You music video. Remember when fandom found out that most of the newspaper clips were within two weeks of the release date? There couldn’t have been much time for Sony’s censorship, and maybe that was the point.
Speaking of which, the design of the Away From Home Festival graphics reminds me of the lyric videos for the We Made It trilogy, which was likely produced by the same company that did the JLY lyric video. Does anyone remember the design company?
(I think they posted the X Factor stage design for the live performance of DLIBYH? Ok thanks @silverfoxlou for the link— @nessgraphics.)
It’s so cool.
AFHF graphic designed by @kaleidagon. (They also designed the lyric video for Two of Us and the We Made It Trilogy.)
Addendum: just to be clear, “being honest” and “being completely silenced” are two different things.
Louis doesn’t personally need to do anything for the festival to be promoted— he is paying an entire team. LTHQ are responsible for his branding, his pop culture relevance, the outreach to the general public. They are doing a very poor job of it. A video post on Louis’ own social media, and an update on the AFHF website, reach only his existing fans. It does little to promote his supporting acts or to reach the general public.
