RIDE WITH RUBELLITE - PART ONE
#Rubellitetourmaline was often confused with rubies & #pinksapphires. It’s a fact that many of the gems in the #RussianCrownjewels were thought to be Rubies only to have technology step in and discover that these gems were actually Rubellite Tourmaline. This 8.21 Carat gemstone is a #exceptionalRubellite. These gemstones are rich and deep and lovely. Think of a pendant or ring that #youdesign. By itself or surrounded by Diamonds, maybe even #coloryourworld with #coloredgemstone sidestones this #LargeRubellite is going to make you #thebelleoftheball.
Most #RubelliteTourmaline are #unheatedgemstones with the exception of some #ParibaTourmalines. The #roughtourmaline is usually #whatyousee is #whatyouget.
Since #acmegemjewelry follows #AGTA guidelines all gemstone enhancements must be disclosed.
Dutch traders starting getting these gems from Sri Lanka in the early 1700’s, they called any unfamiliar stones by the Sinhalese name “turamali” meaning “stones with mixed colors.” So, whenever there were stones that weren’t recognized as being either ruby or sapphire they became known as “turmali”.
With a hardness of 7 – 7.5, tourmaline is quite hard and resistant to scratching so it’s #goodforalljewelry, even bracelets which take a beating.
