Crossing Borders, Building Bridges: A Journalist's Heart in Latin America

A live Zoom conversation with veteran journalist and radio producer Maria Martin, the founding executive producer of the award-winning public radio program Latino USA. Her just published memoir is “Crossing Borders, Building Bridges: A Journalist’s Heart in Latin America” describes her work as one of the first Latina news directors at the first bilingual community radio station in the U.S.

In commemoration of Women’s History Month, the Herbert School of Communication and the Hofstra Student Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, in collaboration with the Center for Civic Engagement, the Center for Race, Culture and Social Justice, the Hofstra Organization of Latinx Americans (HOLA) and the Latin American Caribbean Studies Program (LACS) invite you to a special presentation: “Crossing Borders, Building Bridges: A Journalist’s Heart in Latin America.”
