North Laine Hidden Lego Minifigure Competition

The Brighton Bricks North Laine Hidden LEGO Minifigure Competition

Brighton Bricks is a LEGO fan group, and will be hiding LEGO minifigures in shop windows in the North Laine area of Brighton.

On Saturday 25th November I will be dropping off the minifigures for the shops to hide 

We have a wide range of businesses taking part like Silo, Little Beach Boutique, CornishPasty.Shop, Painting Pottery Cafe Brighton, Present in the Laine, Leoframes, Sugarhill Boutique, Gelato Gusto Artisan Ice Cream, Vegetarian Shoes, Punktured, Official Irregular Choice Brighton Store, Roly's Fudge Pantry Brighton, Las Iguanas Brighton, Resident Brighton, Family Store, Toby Tiger

One of the reasons behind this competition is to spread the joy of LEGO, but another big reason is to encourage people to support local shops, so when you are looking in the these shop windows, why not pop inside and do some Christmas Shopping!

Technically done for the Valentenno contest where I genuinely DID intend for this to be a cheesy meme card but. This composition... The Man In The Wall tears at the scars in one's heart and salts the wounds anew, a la Tanetane Island in Mother 3 and frankly a lot of other media. We see him doing this with Loid in WITW, telling him he's as abandoned by Albrecht as the Lab they lived in.

His next target is The Lotus.

You know. The Lotus. Who is struggling underneath the memories of three lives within her.

The Lotus, who bears the consequences of denying the purpose given to her by her father. Betraying all of Sentient-kind because she refused to kill the Tenno. Sympathizing with Human children when she herself is a Sentient made to destroy them. Being mourned and then despised by her family for defecting, when she was only doing what she, and the rest of Sentient-kind, wanted: To have a family. Children of their own.

The Lotus, who bears the consequences of looking up to Margulis, a woman who died protecting the orphans of Ten Zero. Naming herself after this woman's favourite flower to honor her memory. Picking up the mantle of caretaker and friend to these now twice orphaned children. Allowing these children to fight in the war against the Orokin, allowing them revenge for what they did to Margulis. Allowing these children to be the child soldiers that Margulis died to prevent.

The Lotus, who bears the consequences of dedicating her life to protecting the Tenno. Defending them from the harshness of reality, softening the impact of the trauma inflicted upon them. Lying to these children into numbing their true Void power. Hiding their true selves from them when she herself has been lied to and manipulated before.

The Lotus, who now bears the trauma of dying thrice: Natah to the Orokin reprogramming, Margulis to the Jade Light, and lastly, to the Void.

You know. The Lotus. Who definitely has a wide network of people to trust outside of her Tenno. Who definitely hasn't been left alone to process every event that shook her. Who definitely is known for talking about her fears and doubts and wants and needs.

The Man In The Wall is targeting THAT Lotus.

I don't think he has to kill her to kill her.

man, i'm glad i started playing Warframe well after The New War first came out because i don't think i could've handled the nuclear fallout that was the fandom's reactions to the Lotus' betrayal

i understand being hurt by it and understand that there were compelling reasons to distrust the Lotus, but ohhhh my god. the amount of misogyny to wade through... the unwillingness to try to understand this character because you're convinced that euugghhhh this is just how women are

when i finished TNW i was very grateful that DE did not go the "woman is evil and manipulative and must die" route with the lotus, but now after understanding the game's themes (and no longer being a passenger in this seemingly incomprehensible but fun as fuck ride), i'm just like. Yeah of fuckin' course the Lotus isn't evil! the game WARFRAME is about WAR TRAUMA and the Lotus is an ENTIRE embodiment of it

The Tenno were forced to become child soldiers, Natah was created for the sole purpose of Finishing the war. the Tenno at least had lives like normal children before being forced into war, but Natah???? she never had that luxury.

and it's such a fucking gut punch to realize that Natah never truly knew what a life outside destruction was, and yet. she met the Tenno and decided to spare them; to reject the purpose programmed into her because she found herself feeling compassion. she found herself feeling that these children deserve to live.

and just, like Conceptually?? the fact that Warframe's writing team is even answering the question "What if the leader of an army of children who were forced into becoming soldiers for war is a mom figure who was born for war?" is so fuckin cool. idk where exactly the bar is when it comes to stories like this cuz i'm not that worldly a person, but god it's soooo compelling.

You're not only alive again, but you're now sharing a body (a Sentient body) with 2 other people (who are both Sentients), one of whom just utterly loathes you (why are you in a Sentient body) and views you as a Human parasite who doesn't belong here and never should have been here, and the other who is apparently mimicking your appearance and is strangely devoted to you and knows so impossibly much about you that you think it's hurting her
