sometimes i find myself wishing that the dsmp had been a proper, produced show/book/comic/whatever because while i loved the unique viewing experience of watching the story unfold through minecraft twitch streams, the characters and plot are too good to fall into ruin due to poor planning and loss of creator interest. but on the other hand a lot of the most interesting characterization and plot points comes from the improvisational nature of the dsmp and something made by a production studio could never manufacture that

#double edged sword and all that #like i mean it when i say that the dsmp genuinely has some of the best characters i've ever seen #and that's largely due to the way they sort of developed accidentally #by giving these character an open world and no limit on how many 'episodes' could be made #the characters were able to become something that feels so incredibly realistic #like genuinely the m1necraft setting was SUCH a benefit to the development of the story and the worldbuilding and all that #the urge to rewrite the dsmp as a full book series so it makes sense is so so strong #chicken scratch
