Languages and how they affect our brains are so interesting to me. Why can I swear I saw certain movies in spanish but when I ask my friends they tell me we watched them in english? Why do I remember conversations with people completely in italian when that's impossible because I wasn't in Italy when they happened? Why is my thought process in a mixture of words in different languages I haven't even used in years? Why do I keep forgetting words in my mother tongue but know the exact equivalent in languages I've learnt fairly recently? I CAUGHT MYSELF THINKING IN PORTUGUESE THE OTHER DAY. I DO NOT SPEAK PORTUGUESE I JUST UNDERSTAND IT. I won't even start with the whole "my spanish personality is not the same as my english or my italian personality. They are three different people"

How does any of this works. I need to know.

#for example i conditioned myself to think in italian when is about the weather #i also physically can not read something without at least trying to translate it #like is not even conscious bc i would swear i read soc in spanish or the little prince in english #but when i check my books soc is in english and the little prince is in italian??? #AND HAPPENS WITH UNI STUFF TOO #but thats probably because like 3 of my classes are in spanglish. it doesn’t explain the italian tho #talking with other people we all seem to agree that feelings are so much easier when you express them in other than your native language #is almost automatic. a conversation gets serious and the conversation switch languages without even agreeing on it #MAKES NO SENSE #Iny rambles
