I saw your rant about trade evos a while ago, and thought about letting you know that there is actually a way to get pokemon like karrablast and shelmet to evolve WITHOUT the trading part. ntevo (no trade evolution) roms. basically the roms remove the whole trading necessity that requires some pokemon like machoke, haunter and etc to evolve into their final stage. the only set of ntevo mods that i found online so far are available from gen 1 to 5, which is pretty neat.

Oh yeah, there are dozens of ways to get trade-evo only Pokemon through less-than-official ways, like genning, playing roms, etc. I just meant that there was no easy "proper" way to do it, and GameFreak ironically just encourages the use of assorted hacks by having them be a thing
