#like its really unfair that ekko doesn't give him any chance at all but also very understandable considering how it was to grow up with

"so you've met her," there's a look of detachment to him that clearly feels forced. jayce can't keep himself neutral when riven is the subject, no matter how good an actor he often is. "i'm assuming you two get along swimmingly, unlike..." he gestures between the two of them, body language telling in how stilted it feels. "us, of course."
unprompted || always accepting.
Now, this was something.
Finding the word that could describe the beauty in what he was seeing was a worthy yet incredibly hard task. Could delightful be enough to capture his impression of how exquisitely uncomfortable the Defender seemed standing in front of him? Was it beautiful, or could it be that amazing was the ultimate term to point his utter enjoyment of how tedious it had to be for him, for Jayce, the Almighty Son of Piltover to acknowledge how fond of him was the woman he has chosen to marry. The choices were many, but one way or another the zaunite is sure of one thing: damn, how he would like to capture every component of that perfect scene. An extra reason to smile could always come in handy, right? And this was the sort of thing that could make you grin in the very last of your minutes.
Now, if someone else had been in his place maybe they would have chosen to desist from showing too much merriment. That would have been a really smart move in case you wanted to explore the possibility of repairing the relationship you had with someone that usually made you feel like ruining his perfect hair. Sympathy, as some may call. Which wasn’t at all what he did; smiling like a child that was offered the most outstanding chance of mischief every time he hesitated to find the right words. Laughing to himself even, paving the exact road of someone who was looking for a good punch, red carpet and all.

“Woah, wait, what— what were you saying again? Sorry man, I uh—” He bit his lower lip in an attempt to force his memory, but the last of his thoughts before he got distracted —the whole ‘what did she saw in him?’ deal that made him zoom out— only made him release another tiny chuckle, and come to a sudden realization that he didn’t even try to bite back once it started its journey out of his mouth. “This really has been taking its toll on you, hadn’t it J-town. What has been happening in that head of yours lately? Afraid of a little competition? Mad you don’t get a guest pass for all the fun Zaun has to offer?”
Or was it something else? He was dying to know what the problem here seemed to be.
“Either that or you don’t want things to be ‘swimmingly’ well between me and her, which— spoiler alert, not gonna happen.”
