i really wish i hadn’t gotten spoiled on the Big Reveal at the end but overall the ep was ok. it was Fun like how doctor who is but literally every character couldve used more character moments

It had its moments but the writers have consistently failed to get me invested in these characters so I just felt nothing for them

#there were Moments don't get me wrong #there were certainly moments i enjoyed and it's not nearly the worst thing this era has given us #but a lot of the episode's content just felt kind of derivative #I'm all for taking plot points and shit that have been used before and applying nee meaning or emotional contexts #but that would require motivations and emotions which are almost always absent in ch*bnall scripts #a lot of fanservice in the episode too #that's just kind of a neutral statement about the episode to me bc it was pretty hit or miss imo #the hologram turning into 5 for tegan? sweet. i liked that #but a lot of other parts of fanservice just felt a little shallow to me. like ace destroying the dalek w a baseball bat #like. i get it. i know who ace is. but why would it be her weapon of choice against a damn dalek? am i missing something there? #and then there's really shallow shit like the space cargo train being called ''toraji'' #like the star from 42. remember that doctor who fans? all ur fond memories of 42? remember how consistently mediocre I've been? #he's got a right to do that. it's his last episode. and I've got a right to think it's dumb #i thought namedropping villengard in moffats last episode was dumb too #and do u remember what i said earlier about the content of the episode being derivative? #it really is the sum of its parts #some good but a lot bland #at least the master was absolutely serving this episode 😔 #personal
