is there a word for when youre like. mourning the past more tactile ways of doing things having been superseded by modern technology.

#daphnes talking again #i know theres like hyperspecific words for things sometimes. i thought this feeling might have been one of those things #my dad told me that in the 80s ish you would pay for things with your credit card by having them roll a stamping plate over the raised #numbers to make a print of them on the receipt. and then youd sign under it and theyd bill your checking account #and. i dunno. that seems so. urgh. it seems so. good. #im sorry for my lackof descripive words here #but i cant explain how. how it makes me feel. thinking about the physicality of it #like yeah theres still the checking account thats in the ether as a Concept in this situation #but. sometimes i think about like. handing over the right ammount of money to buy something. and getting handed back change. #and. counting it. that piece of connection. that. #god i dont know #somehow ive convinced myself that the lack of modern tech and social media would connect me more to people #but. you know. i dont think thats right. #it just. hurts for some reason. thinking how things used to be so different. #..... #my dad brought up the raised numbers because he said the new cards theyre making dont have the raised numbers. theyre flat i think #...... #i dont know why im so upset with the world for moving like it is. #.... #is this how conservatives feel
