Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack Hughes.
Although he was known in your high school for being a handsome and incredibly athletic boy, you didn’t care much for him.
Besides, you had too many APs and Honor classes to be worrying about. Like right now; with your nose inside your AP Chemistry textbook, trying your best to not go absolutely insane. So far, it wasn’t working.
It had gotten to the point where you slammed your head against the textbook, making those around you turn to glare at the loud noise. You apologize profusely, deciding to go cry quietly in one of the study rooms the library had, not caring if you’d go home later with red eyes.
“Hey, you okay?”
A guy’s voice pulls you away from your textbook, your sniffles quickly filling the quiet room.
“This room is reserved, sorry.” You say, wiping away your tears with your eyes.
“Oh no, I know. I was just wondering if you were okay. I passed by and heard crying.”
Great. Not only did you look terrible at the moment, a cute guy just heard you crying. How embarrassing.
“It’s just chemistry,” you sigh, “I don’t know why I took it. It’s making me go insane.”
The boy laughs quietly, nodding to your words. “Yeah, I felt the same way about chemistry. Hated it.”
You noticed the equipment he had on his backpack, a long hockey stick and skates.
“You play hockey?”
“Yep. Jack Hughes, 86 on the ice.”
Your eyes widened, not expecting Jack Hughes to be right in front of you. Sure, you’ve heard about him endlessly, mostly coming from giggling girls in your grade, but you’ve never actually seen him up close.
Suddenly, Jack’s phone rang, and he picks it up with quite a bit of annoyance. “Yes. I’m at the library. The one next to the Starbucks, uh huh. Yep, I’ll be out now. Bye mom. Love you too.”
He turns it off, turning around to face you once again. “I have to get going,” he says, frowning. “But I’d be glad to help you with your AP Chemistry work. Here’s my number.”
You glance at the numbers, taking out your phone from your pocket, typing it into your contacts.
“Thanks Jack,” you say gratefully, “I thought you hated chem, though?”
“Oh I hate it.” He laughs. “But it doesn’t mean I’m bad at it. Just give me a call whenever.”
Jack Hughes walked away that day giddy that he had given his number to a cute girl, and you had walked away happy that you were finally getting chemistry help.
However, your happiness didn’t last long when you realized Jack Hughes had absolutely no idea what he was doing when it came to chemistry.
“No Jack!” You say bewilderingly as you watched him scribble a bunch of nonsense on your paper. “What is up with you?”
It was a week after you two had first met at the library and Jack was helping you out in the same study room he had walked into you crying last week.
“I’m sorry okay!” Jack panics, face in a red flush. “I have no idea what I’m doing! I don’t! I just said I did because you’re so cute and I couldn’t help it and I—”
Jack slaps his hands over his mouth before he could say further, shocked that he’s accidentally revealed to you how cute he thinks you are. “Oh my god.”
You furrow your eyebrows, but your stern look doesn’t last long before you burst out in giggles. “Why didn’t you just say so?” You ask.
He finally puts his hands back on the table, “I don’t know.. I guess I was scared of rejection.”
“You? Scared of rejection?” You raise your eyebrows. “Jack, you know girls in our grade and not in our grade would die to even be near you, right?”
Jack blushes at this, keeping his head down. “But those girls aren’t you, it’s different.”
Well goddamnit Jack Hughes, you really knew how to swoon a girl over.
"Really? And you're not just saying that to play me?"
Jack shakes his head quickly. "What? No Y/N, I would never."
And that was the start to yours and Jack's relationship. Although you still very much needed a chemistry tutor, you're glad the hockey player had somehow managed to sneak his way into your life, bringing joy and happiness while he was at it.
"Hey Rory, do you think this looks good on me?" Olivia "Livvy" Hughes, the Hughes' youngest child and also the only girl considered you as one of her best friends because you two were both girls. She was over the moon when Jack had brought you home, claiming she was going to finally have the sister she always wanted.
Needless to say, Quinn, Jack, and Luke were frowning that day at her comment.
The Hughes had started calling you Rory after Jack had. Why did he start calling you that? You really didn't know, but Jack had explained that the nickname was cute, and he had gotten it from your last name, which was Lerory.
"You look gorgeous Livvy!" You gleam happily, watching the younger girl in awe. "He is going to die."
"Who is going to die and why are you dressed up like you're going on a date Olivia Hughes?" The voice of your boyfriend makes you turn to face the boy, who had an unimpressed look on his face. "Who's the guy? Do I know him? I'm gonna kill him."
"Jack!" you scold, slapping his arm. "Your sister looks stunning, doesn't she?"
Jack mumbles something under his breath, to which you responded with an elbow to his side. "Fine. Yes Livs, you look amazing. Don't do anything stupid, alright?"
Livvy nods, before giving you a bone breaking hug for getting her brother off her back. She mumbles a love you thank you in your ear before running outside to Gabe, her date.
Jack places a kiss on your head, leading you to his room and placing a Netflix show on as background noise.
"I'm really glad you and Livvy get along," Jack says quietly. "I was worried you wouldn't for some reason."
"She's a great person J," you say, placing a peck on his lips. "And so are you."
The next time you're over at the Hughes house, there was a bunch of yelling and crying, much of which came from Jack and Livvy. Luke was on Jack's side, Quinn being gone in Vancouver.
"What's going on?" You mumble, feeling like you're an intruder coming into a scene that you were unwelcomed in.
"Did you know?!" Jack huffs angrily, now facing you.
"Did I know what, Jack?"
"Did you know she was dating Gabe Perreault? That kid who plays hockey for Princeton?"
So this is what this is all about. Jack was once again being his overprotective self.
"Yes J, I don't see the problem? He treats her well."
"Well I don't want her dating a hockey player! I know how they are! Luke and I know how they are!"
Livvy watches in tears as her brother continues yelling some more before making her way to you, practically falling into your arms.
"Jackson Rowden Hughes, you better stop yelling at Olivia before I do something about it. You are an adult, Jack. Livvy is an adult now, she's 18, she's allowed to date whomever she wants with or without your permission. Same goes with you, Luke Warren Hughes. You guys need to stop upsetting your sister! Just because Quinn isn't here doesn't mean you can corner and scream at her!"
Your words make Jack and Luke go mute, heads down in embarrassment when they realize how right your words were.
"Rory's right," Jack says awkwardly, clearing his throat. "I'm sorry Livvy. I didn't mean it, I just don't want you to get hurt."
Livvy nods, breaking the hug with you to go hug her brothers.
Later that night, Jack slips under the covers of his bed, putting his arms around your frame.
"You'd be a good mother Rory." He mumbles sleepily.
"Hm?"
"You'll be a good mom. I saw the way you handled my argument with Livvy earlier, thank you by the way. It shows how amazing you truly are." He places a kiss on your bare shoulder. "And I can't wait to have a family with you Y/N Lerory."
His words make you pull him closer, placing small kisses around his face. "I can't wait to have a family with you too, J."
Although Jack's words weren't true, and he wasn't ready at all.
Which is why the both of you were standing in the kitchen of your dorms, mascara running down your cheeks while Jack ruffles his hair in stress.
"What do you mean you're pregnant?" he says, eyebrows furrowing.
"Well what does it mean Jack?! It takes two people to make a baby!"
"You don't think I know that?!"
"Well by the way you're acting, it sure as hell feels like i'm the one at fault here!"
"I don't know Rory, I don't know." Jack's face is in his hands now, which gives you deja vu to when he first blurted out that he had found you cute. "I need time to think. I can't do this right now."
"What do you mean Jack?" you say, voice cracking as you reach out to him. "J, talk to me."
But he shakes his head, "I'm a professional hockey player now Y/N, you're a college student. I can't be doing this right now." With that, he leaves your dorm.
The next few days are spent with you in your bed, crying into your pillows. Your roommate, Madison, frowns as she watches your depressed state. She leaves an ice cream in your fridge, telling you words of encouragement and telling you that you can come to her anytime about anything.
When the news reaches Livvy, she's absolutely fuming, immediately taking out her phone to call you. Seeing your puffy eyes and cracked voice, she dials Jack right after, ready to give him a piece of her mind.
What she doesn't expect is to see him equally broken as you, eyebags heavy and eyes red.
"I know I fucked up Livs. I know." He says, crying at his desk. Although he's got the NHL title, a bunch of girls who would die to be with him, he still feels so utterly alone without you.
"You know what's funny Jack? You always warned me about how shitty hockey guys can be, you threw a fit because I was dating one, but you ended up being the biggest asshole of them all."
And Jack can do nothing but cry, because his younger sister's words were all too true.

NEVER GROW UP (LIVVY’S VERSION)
au masterlist
author’s note: oh my!! wasn’t even expecting to write this, much less post this today but i got a sudden wave of energy? olivia hughes is the moment and she’ll always be the moment, this made me a bit emotional bc i hold this au close to my heart. as always, enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Olivia Hughes was born just a year after Luke, coming out a 7 pound baby with tufts of brown hair.
When Olivia was 3, the boys and her were playing indoor hockey in their living room. Olivia and Quinn were on one team, and Jack and Luke were on the other. Luke had thrown a fit, pushing Quinn out of the way to claim that he wanted to be in a team with his Livvy but Quinn only stuck out his tongue, announcing the start of the game.
The boys had gone fairly mild when playing with their baby sister, knowing that if they had played as rough as they usually did, it wouldn’t end up so well. When Ellen had called them for dinner, the score ended up being 10 to 4. Obviously, Quinn and Olivia won.
“Not fair!” Jack exclaims, puffing his cheeks out in annoyance. He threw the small hockey stick to the ground, running to the kitchen to grab his dinner.
“Lu wanna play with my Livvy next,” Luke says, motioning between him and Olivia. “My livvy. Not yours, Quinny.”
Quinn only flicks the small blonde boy’s forehead, giggling as he made his way to the kitchen.
“How was the game?” Ellen asked, smiling brightly as she watched her kids dig in a hurry. “Must’ve been real fun considering how fast you guys are eating.”
“It was mama!” Jack exclaims, his eyes wide with joy. “But Quinny no fair. Quinny always wins.”
“I’m sure that he plays fair, Jack.” Ellen smiles, ruffling her son’s hair. “Did you like it Luke?”
“Yes!” Luke places his hands together excitedly. “But next time, Lu gon’ play with Livvy. My Livvy.” He turn to hug Olivia, who was sitting right next to him.
Luke had called Olivia “Livvy” when she turned 2, stating that she was his baby and that he was going to take care of her until he grew old. Ellen and Jim, who were surprised at their young son’s statement, only smiled in relief, knowing their daughter had brothers she could rely on.
“Oh Luke and Livvy,” Ellen sighs to herself. “Never grow up.”
- - -
When Jack was in his sophomore year of high school, he had bumped into a pretty girl in the library, who he claimed was the “most prettiest girl he’s ever seen” besides his mom and Olivia. Olivia geeked, knowing that she might be able to have another girl who she could bond with if Jack managed to date the library girl he was so adamant on talking about.
Rory was what Jack called her, and Rory was just as beautiful as Jack claimed she was. Olivia knew that she was perfect for her brother, and that Rory was going to stick around for a really long time—well, at least she hoped so.
When Olivia got her first boyfriend, a boy named Max on the baseball team during the eighth grade, all her brothers had freaked.
“Boyfriend? You’re like 5!” Quinn exclaimed, his eyes widened in concern.
“I’m 13, Q.” The girl rolled her eyes, tapping her foot impatiently.
“Did he force you to date him? It’s okay Livvy, you can tell your big brother Luke. I will beat him up for you.”
“You’re like a freshman in high school Luke, you can’t do shit.” That got Jack an elbow to the rib, which made the middle boy let out a groan of pain. “Asshole.”
It’s safe to say that Max didn’t stick around for that long, and the pair broke up after graduating middle school, as Max was going to a different high school and Livvy knew she couldn’t do long distance.
It wasn’t until Olivia dated Gabe Perreault that she knew he was the one. He was a pretty boy with the nicest brunette hair Olivia had seen known to man. Maybe she was over exaggerating, but Gabe Perreault was an absolute catch.
The Hughes boys had obviously protested once again, claiming that Gabe wasn’t good enough for Olivia, and he just would never be. It was the first time she brought home a hockey boy, and that heightened her brothers’ fears, knowing the kind of guys some hockey boys could be.
What they didn’t know was that Gabe liked Livvy so much that he switched from Boston College to go to Princeton just so he could be closer to her. He dropped all his plans in a heartbeat, just to see Livvy smile.
He bought her white tulips on Tuesdays, her favorite, because Tuesdays were the only day his schedule didn’t really get in the way.
And when Gabe had overheard what her brothers had said about him, it felt like a stab to the chest. It hurt—like hell.
Livvy didn’t know what to do at first. Her brothers, the 3 she’s known her entire life, or Gabe? The boy that she loved just as dearly?
They ended up taking a break; but after a day, Livvy couldn’t take it and had to make amends with her boyfriend. How could she not miss the sweet boy he was?
“I know it’s not a Tuesday, Livs.” Gabe begins, a smile plays on his lips. “But I got you flowers.” And when her brothers saw their sister jump into the arms of the hockey player, they thought maybe he wasn’t so bad, and maybe they could even bond over their shared love for hockey.
“She’s growing up,” Quinn says, elbowing Jack softly.
“I wish she never grew up,” Jack jokes, though his eyes seem to water at the pondering of his baby sister finally growing up and finding the love of her life.
- - -
Rory and Olivia had became inseparable ever since Jack and Rory had started dating. When Rory first headed off to Umich for college, Olivia had packed loads of snacks and microwaveable meals in her luggage, hugging the older girl tightly as if she were her lifeline.
“Don’t forget about me back here!” Olivia joked, though there are a few tears that leave her eyes.
“Oh Liv, you know I could never.” Rory hugged the girl tightly close to her chest. “You’re practically my sister now.”
And when Olivia had received the phone call from her brother Jack after a few weeks of Rory not replying to her messages, she was beyond angry.
“What do you mean you just left her?!” Olivia practically screams into the mic.
“Whoa, what’s wrong Livvy?” Jack hears Luke ask in the background, but he’s too distraught to care.
“I didn’t know how to react when she brought up the pregnancy,” Jack sobs, “my brain just stopped working and I went on autopilot.”
“So you just walked out and didn’t tell her where you were going?” Now Olivia was getting even more angry. “Jack Rowden Hughes, you don’t do that!”
“I know, trust me, I know.”
“Well it seems like you don’t, Jack.”
And the next few hours are spent with Olivia lecturing her older brother, who’s currently in shambles at the home of his friend in Michigan. He didn’t know what to do, he wasn’t ready to be a father, not yet, not now.
But after Olivia told him that he was now an adult and he had to get his shit together, Jack realized she was right.
“You’re growing up Livs,” Jack sniffed. “You really are.”
“I’ve always been grown,” Olivia says, her eyes crinkled. “You were just all too busy to notice. Now get your girl back, J.”
And that’s all Jack needed to hear before heading to Rory.
- - -
The one time Olivia had visited Quinn in Vancouver, they were surrounded by cameras and news reporters eager to get a word out from the two Hughes.
Olivia sighed, having 3 brothers in the spotlight was clearly something. But she was proud of them, she really was.
It was all fine until a lady had asked, “your parents have played hockey and all three of your brothers are in the NHL, Olivia. How does it feel to be the only one in your family who doesn’t play the sport? Do you feel like a black sheep? Do you ever regret it?”
And Olivia is taken aback, wondering why it mattered so much to them that she didn’t play hockey. She just wasn’t interested, and that was all there was to that.
Quinn was about to say a remark against the woman when Olivia speaks up, not wanting it to break out in an argument.
“No, I never feel like the black sheep. My parents and brothers have always supported me in what I do, even if it’s not hockey. I’m currently majoring in history and diplomacy and I’m extremely happy with my choice, whether you guys are fine with that or not. Thank you.”
And that’s when Quinn Hughes realizes Olivia isn’t a baby anymore, and that he doesn’t have to speak for her anymore. Olivia Hughes was intelligent, well spoken, and even though Quinn would hate to admit it, his baby sister was truly growing up.

“JUST SAY SOMETHING, OLIVIA.”
gabe perreault x hughes!sister
au masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gabe Perreault was an absolute sweetheart. He’d make sure you were full everytime he stopped by your dorm, and always gave you his hoodies that he had sprayed in his cologne so you could have them when you missed him too much. He always walked on the outside part of the sidewalk, and make sure you never paid on dates. It was just who Gabe was, caring and loving.
Did this mean Jack and Luke liked him? No, not really.
Sure, he was a decent guy in their eyes, but never good enough for their little sister. That was just what it was. No matter how hard Gabe tried to display how much he loved and appreciated you, Jack and Luke were stubborn in the head.
“Will you two stop it?” Quinn scolds, watching his two younger brothers stare down Gabe as he was braiding your hair. You two had gone to visit your brothers and parents since it was winter break at Princeton.
“Stop what?” Jack feigned innocence, which led him and Luke to receive both a slap on the head from Quinn. “Ouch! Quinn!”
“He’s a good guy,” Quinn says, eyes averting to you and Gabe on the couch, “hell, I’m in Vancouver and even I know that. He makes her happy.”
“He makes her happy now,” Luke says, rolling his eyes. “And what will happen once he starts playing in the NHL? Surrounded by the sudden wave of women, while Livvy’s busy studying at Princeton?”
“Are you implying our little sister’s boyfriend is gonna cheat on her?” Quinn grits his teeth in annoyance.
“Hey,” Luke raises his hands in surrender, “you said it yourself, not me.”
Quinn gets up from his seat, not wanting to deal with the two Hughes’ stubbornness any longer.
“Hi.” You say as you take a seat next to Luke on one of the island’s chairs. Gabe sits right next to you, giving a small wave and awkward smile to your brothers.
“Hey.” Jack’s tone doesn’t sound too friendly, which catches your attention right away. You quickly shoot him a glare, making sure he wasn’t going to say or do anything rude to your boyfriend.
“So, Gabe?” Luke’s tone is just as harsh as Jack’s, and you swore you could feel Gabe’s hold on you loosen in nervousness.
“Yep, that’s me.” Gabe tries his best to give a bright smile, though his confidence had died as soon as he saw how unwelcoming Jack and Luke were. “Nice to meet you guys! Livvy has told me so much about you, so it’s nice to meet two of the important people in her life.”
“Right,” Jack eyes Gabe up and down before clearing his throat. “So, Gabriel, what are your intentions with my sister?”
“Jack!” You smack your brother on the arm, already knowing where this was heading.
“All good intentions Jack,” Gabe replies. “I love your sister.”
“Love,” Jack laughs as if it’s the funniest thing in the world and Gabe wishes desperately for the ground to swallow him up right then and there. He loved you, so why was it so amusing to your brother that he expressed so?
“You play hockey, don’t you?” Now it was Luke’s turn to interrogate.
Gabe nods slowly, hoping your parents or Quinn could interrupt the moment.
“Heard you got drafted. Big deal, right? Do you see Livvy in your future, Gabe? Especially with all the women that will be surrounding you in the nearby future? I know how hockey guys can be, and you do too, don’t you? I mean, you are one, are you not?”
The implication of Gabe possibly cheating on you makes his breath hitch and he so desperately wants to throw up. How could your brothers think so badly of him? Of course he wouldn’t cheat on you.
“Excuse me for a second,” Gabe gets up, heading to the guest bathroom. He feels sick, so much so that he needs to wash his face with cold water to breathe properly again.
When he slowly opens the door, he finds you with your eyebrows furrow as your brothers list off a reasons why dating him wouldn’t be a good idea.
“Look Livvy, he’s a hockey player. A hockey player. He’s bound to break your heart, we all know this.”
“You’re a smart, talented girl Livs. You’re not gonna let him ruin you and leave you in the mud, are you?”
“Livvy, honestly, he’s not good enough for you.”
“He will never be good enough for you, with a draft or without.”
And he hears them say this without you ever coming into his defense. No “you’re wrong about him” or “Gabe isn’t like that”, absolutely nothing.
Gabe’s lip quivers, and he never felt more out of place than he had now.
“Gabe?” Your voice breaks him out of his trance, and you approach him with a sad look in your eye, automatically bringing your hands up to wipe his tears away.
But Gabe pushes your hand from his face, not wanting comfort from a person who just let their brothers talk badly about him for the entire time.
“Gabe, what’s wrong?” You frown. Gabe never once pushed your touches away, so you knew this was serious. “I’m sorry about Jack and Luke baby, I didn’t know they would be like that.”
“You didn’t defend me.”
He says it so low that you didn’t even hear it the first time.
“Gabe?”
“You didn’t defend me.”
His tears come down more than before, and your instincts tell you to hold him in your arms and wipe away all of them, but you knew he didn’t want you to touch him right now.
“I’m sorry baby, but they’re my older brothers, I..”
“Just say something, Olivia.” Gabe stresses, hands coming up to wipe away his tears. “Tell them that I love you, you know I do. You know how much you mean to me, yet you let them just talk your ear off about how I’ll never be enough for you.”
Gabe’s usage of your full middle name makes your heart hurt. Never had he called you Olivia.
“Gabe—”
“I think we should take a break, Olivia.”
There it goes again. Olivia.
You gulp, trying to keep your tears at bay. “If that’s what you want, baby, then we can do that.”
Gabe nods slowly, not trusting his words at this point. He’s worried he’s gonna say the wrong things and make the situation worse.
He loves you, he does. But he needs a break.
“I’m sorry Y/N.”
And that’s enough to make you crack. Your sobs wreck your entire body as you watch Gabe reach for his things, leaving out the door. He mentioned about having a friend living nearby, so you’re glad to know that he has a place to stay for the time being.
“Livvy? Are you okay sissy?” Quinn’s voice automatically makes you cry harder, and he doesn’t waste a second before pulling you into his chest, arms coming to wrap themselves around you.
“No.” Is all you can mutter as you bury yourself into his chest, letting him rub your arms comfortingly.
Quinn sits with you for a while, letting you cry out your feelings before you fall into a deep slumber. Carefully, he places you down on your bed, giving you a quick kiss to the forehead before turning off the lights.
He descends down the stairs, quickly making his way to Jack and Luke who were currently playing video games as if nothing happened.
Grabbing both by the ear, Quinn sits them down at a table, a murderous look in his eyes.
“Ow! You did not have to do that,” Jack grumbles, placing both his arms across his chest.
“Oh but I did.” Quinn crosses his arms angrily, glaring at both Jack and Luke. “Listen, I knew you two were dumbasses, but I didn’t think you’d be this dumb.”
“What on earth are you talking about?!” Luke sighs loudly, upset at Quinn interrupting his game time with Jack.
“You practically ruined Livvy’s relationship!” Quinn shouts, pointing an accusing finger at the two. “Are you guys happy?! Are you guys thrilled that you’ve ruined your younger sister’s relationship? Does it live up to your satisfaction?!”
Jack and Luke’s eyebrows furrow, not realizing that you were currently asleep with puffy eyes and that Gabe was equally heartbroken, face in a pillow as he cried to his friend about what had happened.
“They broke up?” Jack says, breath hitched.
“No they didn’t break up,” Quinn sighs, and the two swore they could practically see steam coming from his nose. “But they’re on a break, all thanks to the idiotic and rude comments you made about Gabe earlier. You know how much Livvy looks up to the two of you, yet you choose to make these comments about her and Gabe, and how he’s gonna potentially cheat on her in the future?! That’s sick! That is so fucking sick that you would do that to your own sister, and justify it by saying you’re just being a good older brother? No. That is not what we are going to do, Jack, Luke.”
Being scolded by Quinn was almost if not worse than being scolded by their parents. Like you, Jack and Luke had always looked up to Quinn as a sort of guide in their life, and now that he was furious with them, it made their chest turn in guilt.
“You better go and apologize not only to Livvy, but to Gabe. He’s a sweetheart, and he’s tried desperately to put up with you two’s nonsense. Enough is enough, alright?! No more of this overprotective brother bullshit, put your differences aside for Livvy. My God,”
Jack and Luke can only nod in embarrassment as Quinn leaves the kitchen, both realizing the depth of their words.
That night, they had called Gabe, apologizing nonstop for what they had done and said. Thankfully, Gabe was a very forgiving person, and actually found out he had a lot in common with your older brothers than he had previously thought.
The next day, he had showed up to the house, your favorite flowers in hand.
“Hey man,” Luke greets, throwing Gabe an awkward but apologetic smile. Gabe mumbles a quiet hey back, asking him where you were.
“She’s upstairs, Jack and I are really sorry about what happened. We can’t apologize enough.”
“It’s alright,” Gabe says, “thank you for owning up to your mistakes.”
He makes his way up the stairs, seeing you still asleep with one of his grey hoodies over your body. He places a quick peck to your lips, frowning when he realizes your eyes were puffy.
“Livvy,” he whispers, smoothing out your hair.
“Mhm..” you open your eyes slowly, seeing Gabe in your view. “Am I still dreaming?”
He giggles slightly, shaking his head. “No pretty girl, you’re not dreaming.”
You quickly pull Gabe into a hug, placing kisses all over his face. “I’m sorry baby, I know I should’ve said something.”
“It’s alright Livvy,” Gabe presses a kiss to the side of your head, “I know you wanted to.”
You two lay on your bed for the rest of the morning, laughing about how short your “break” was and how you were totally going to beat Jack and Luke up later for this.
You had actually woken up in the middle of the night to your mother, Ellen, rubbing her thumb over your cheek. You had sobbed to her, explaining what had happened, and Ellen had automatically gone to yell at her sons, regardless if it was midnight or not.
They had listened to every word she had lectured out, and explained to her how they had already called Gabe to apologize. Needless to say, Jack and Luke never spoke badly about Gabe again.

Did livvy ever like or disliked her brothers’ girlfriend
hughes!sister x gabe perreault au
I’ve gotten two asks on this so I’ll just reply to this one!
Yes, livvy has once disliked one of her brother’s girlfriends. It was Luke’s girlfriend and she honestly wasn’t the nicest and definitely wasn’t a girls girl. Livvy doesn’t stand for girls who are mean to other girls for no apparent reason so she’s immediately like nope, don’t like her.
She isn’t the type to really make her brothers break up with their girlfriends if she has a problem with them, but her brothers do it anyway because how can they be with someone who doesn’t get along with their younger sister? Especially in the long run if they end up getting married.
Luke’s girlfriend was honestly just rude to livvy, straight up implying she wasn’t as good or talented as her brothers and Jack overheard this and automatically told Luke.
Next thing you know, Luke’s girlfriend is crying hysterically while Luke yells at her that if she could say that about Livvy or even any of Luke’s family members, then she could take her ass out of his house and they broke up! No way was Luke gonna let a girl disrespect his family like that

Rory would definitely lecture jack about being nice to gable
dad!jack hughes x reader (rory) au | hughes!sister x gabe au
no definitely. rory can see how much of a sweet boy gabe is and definitely adopts him as her son before rory was pregnant (which is ironic bc jack and rory does have a son later)
she scolds jack if he’s ever crossing livvy’s and gabe’s boundaries and defends livvy when quinn is away in vancouver.
“they’re my son and daughter jack.”
“yeah well olivier and daisy are our actual son and daughter rory.”

Are Jack and Luke still mean to Gabe?
Hughes!sister x Gabe Perreault au
okay surprisingly, no, however they’re still protective of livvy. Jack and Luke actually have grown to be fond of the boy (but they’ll never actually admit it) and the fact that Gabe also plays hockey makes them able to bond with him even more. Livvy has dated this baseball dude in the past and Jack and Luke did not get along with him, so Gabe is definitely a upgrade
They tease her sometimes and say, “Livvy why are you here? where’s Gabe? Our brother.”
And she scrunches her nose and is like “hello, it’s your biological sister here.”

gabe coming to the lake house with lovey and them being all lovey-dicey together
hughes!sister x gabe au masterlist
gabe comes because ellen invites him and livvy is just so excited to be able to spend time with not only her family but now her bf as well!!
they have such a fun time, gabe learns how to drive the boat with jack’s help and livvy’s on his lap as quinn’s driving and they’re just sunbathing tbh LMAO
of course livvy is the one that brings sunscreen and she smears them on her brothers faces as well as her boyfriend’s saying they’ll “thank her in the afternoon” when their face isn’t irritated and red from being out in the sun all day.

livvy is such a mama’s girl so like imagine her and ellen getting all dressed up for the barbie movie and they take gabe with them too
hughes!reader x gabe au masterlist
Livvy loves her mama so much. Ellen has always been there for her thru thick and thin, she was even the first person to know about Gabe. Livvy + Ellen = best momma and daughter duo
they definitely went to watch Barbie together while the boys and Jim went to watch Oppenheimer! Gabe (of course) goes with his girlfriend and her mom to see Barbie and they all dress up in pink and it’s the cutest thing ever!
Gabe holds Livvy’s hands tightly and pays for whatever she and Ellen are craving like popcorn, drinks, u name it

I see Ellen probably mediating between Livvy and her brothers…Livvy probably would say “I’m ready to beat them with their hockey stick”
hughes!reader x gabe masterlist
Oh Livvy is furious when her and Gabe are on their break. She refuses to acknowledge her brothers (except Quinnier) and this makes Jack and Luke absolutely lose their minds. They’re like “cmon Livvy, we didn’t mean to scare him off, we just want to protect you.”
And Ellen of course senses the tension between her babies and she has to settle things down with them. She talks to Livvy and Quinn first, and then Jack and Luke. She explains both of their sides to each other and Livvy realizes that her brothers are just doing this out of love but she sets boundaries with them when it comes to her relationships. They respect it (don’t have much of a choice because Ellen and Quinn are glaring them down)
But Livvy does say “I’ll beat you up with your own hockey sticks if you come between me and my boyfriend again.”

hughes!reader x gabe au masterlist
Weirdly Gabe is the one suggesting it? He’s like “Livvy, Livvy” and she’s like whaaat and he’s like I saw this thing on tiktok can we please do it
Of course she can’t say no to her bf so they end up doing couples yoga and THEY ARE DYING THE WHOLE TIME
“I thought yoga was supposed to be peaceful? why are you guys sounding like dying horses?” said by Luke who’s peeking in from the doorway.

Does Gabe meet Ellen and Jim without the her brothers? Does Livvys parents like or love him?
hughes!sister x gabe au masterlist
Gabe does meet Ellen and Jim without Livvy’s two brothers! Jack and Luke were busy with hockey but Quinn was able to come home so Gabe meets Ellen, Jim, and Quinn first.
Right off the bat Ellen loved Gabe. She saw how gentle he was with Livvy and the small little things he did for her daughter like open the door, place his hand on the sharp parts of tables and he always made sure she ate before him. Jim and Quinn obviously put up their overprotective mode but it quickly vanished when they all bonded over hockey.
Quinn and Gabe are decently close—Quinn views Gabe as a younger brother in law now that he was with his sister. He did, however, warn that if Gabe ever broke Livvy’s heart, he’d beat him up on the ice.

imagine lake house with gabe and livvy like i just know jack and luke are constantly walking into their sisters room when gabe and livvy are just trying to take naps and relax
hughes!sister x gabe au masterlist
Oh my God they’re so annoying!! But at the end of the day, Livvy knows it’s all lighthearted. Ellen and Jim actually tell Livvy to invite Gabe over to the lake house because they treat him like their son,, gabe is super sweet and Ellen and Jim just love him.
When Gabe comes over, Jack and Luke are like hell no, but they gotta admit Gabe is pretty funny and maybe—just maybe—he’s good enough for their sister. When Livvy and Gabe take naps or cuddle while watching movies, Jack and Luke always just “happen” to walk in.
They’re like “oops, didn’t know you two were in here.” Like dude, its Livvy’s room, of course she’d be in here 😭 but they’re like “anyway, while we’re here, 6 feet apart!”
They’re menaces and very annoying but Gabe finds it funny that they’re so protective of their sister. Sometimes, he teases them by placing an arm over her shoulder

Does Livvy feel overwhelmed with how famous her brothers are? Like does she feel guarded when it comes to people getting close to her…if they are using her to get to her brothers?
hughes!reader x gabe au masterlist
sooo yes livvy does feel overwhelmed with how famous her brothers are sometimes. she doesn’t find it annoying; she’s honestly so proud of them because she knows how hard they worked to get to where they are today—she just wishes some people wouldn’t just think of her as “quinn’s sister” or “jack’s sister” or “luke’s sister”. she just wants to be known as herself, which is yn olivia hughes!
at Princeton, there have been some instances where some girls tried to get close to Livvy because they wanted to get with her brothers, but she’s very quick and smart so she catches it right off the bat and is like,, dude,, if you like my brother then go for it? don’t use me? LOL
once she started dating Gabe, he was afraid his fans would drive her away but she reassures him that she’s pretty used to the whole famous thing so yeah!
Livvy just hates it when people ask her why she doesn’t play hockey and if she ever feels left out because no, she doesn’t, ya girl is focusing on her studies and she’s happy with her hot boyfriend :’)!
