I know you’ve once said that Judar was one of the queer coded characters but can I just say how gay Ja’far was for Sinbad
Even since Sinbad being the first to help Ja’far from his trauma in AoS, his love for Sinbad was more then just admiration and respect
Not only does Ja’far truly understand Sinbad on a personal level (as we can see with him watching Kougyoku and Alibaba) he was also stated by Shinobu Ohtaka that the kingdom of sindria were the two things Ja’far loved most (tho I am unable to find the source so I can’t confirm that)
Even if that wasn’t canon, I definitely say it should be true since despite all of the previous stuff, Ja’far’s final lines were “Sin, I’ll know you’ll be back” IN THE WHOLE MANGA
I don’t know if this counts as a reach, but the fact that Ja’far’s type of lover, is someone extremely loyal to sindria has got me thinking… hmmm
:0000
Okay on a personal level SinJa hurts my HEART because of everything they've gone through together, Ja'far was always so loyal to him even to the end and I don't doubt that he forgave him for every single thing despite Sinbad doing things that cannot and should not be forgiven
Ja'far is definitely on my radar (gaydar) for being a queer coded character, and I genuine believe that Ohtaka wanted to include more of that kind of representation too since if she did all of this research on other countries there's no way in hell she didn't see how the LGBTQ community thrived in these other countries
Maybe that's putting too much faith in her, but who knows
Back to Ja'far though, part of that loyalty is just kind of growing up with Sinbad and looking up to him for years even though he's a pretty shitty role model all things considered, and he didn't have that for the first part of his life
It's hard not to fall in love with someone like that sometimes
So yeah Ja'far's probably gay af no matter what, the gays trademarked platinum blonde after all :3
